Erika Jayne is certainly enjoying what feels like a comeback season on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The heat of her ex-husband’s legal woes has passed. Erika is finally feeling at peace in her living space and with her co-stars.
She’s been a solid friend to Dorit Kemsley this season, as the latter struggles with her own separation from PK Kemsley. In seasons past, Erika was embroiled in a lot of the drama. Now, most of it is coming from Dorit and Kyle Richards.
Erika Jayne is in the middle of “a healing process”
Erika gave an exclusive interview with New York Live to discuss the dynamic on RHOBH this season. And the Dominos singer is enjoying being aside of the drama rather than a part of it.
“It’s a moment of peace. And it’s nice to be somewhat on the other side of those very heavy things,” the RHOBH veteran said.
The host noted that viewers are watching Erika “rebuild” this season. That includes renovating her home and picking out new furniture.
“It’s been lovely,” she shared. “It’s refreshing. I did not realize how much energy furniture held on to. And just like, being able to redo the home, where I live, it just felt light and good. And it’s been a nice moment.”
Erika has been on “a healing process” that started when her marriage to Tom Girardi ended. Her cast mates put her on the spot for several seasons as she navigated the legal process and, finally, cleared her name.
“It is starting completely over. And it feels good,” the singer stated.
The interviewer questioned whether every cast member is “held to the same standards” in regards to sharing their personal life on screen.
Erika replied, “Every woman has to do what’s right for them. I was in a unique position where everything was out there. So I kinda feel like, if I went through it other people can too.”
“Each woman’s journey on the show is different. So it’s hard to say,” she added.
Finally, the host asked Erika what she feels is her legacy on RHOBH.
“After 9 seasons, how do you feel about your place in the group and your relationship with these ladies?” she asked.
“You definitely form relationships with these women,” Erika concluded. “It’s a unique experience in that we’re sharing our lives with each other and on television. So it’s uh, different friendships. And they bind a little bit deeper I think.”
