Everybody's making the same brutal joke about Liam Gallagher's bold new £400 jacket

1 month ago 4

Liam Gallagher has been brutally roasted for helping flog a pricey designer jacket that 'looks like it's from Lidl'. The front-man of Oasis is somewhat of a style icon thanks to his bucket hat and parka combo.

However, people are questioning whether the Mancunian musician should really be considered as a trendsetter after seeing his most recent clobber. That's because he's teamed together with brand Berghaus for a collection that has raised many-an-eyebrow and will rinse wallets at the same time.

The Trango is penned as 'timeless piece of outerwear embraced by the subcultures of the 90s' and was sprung into the spotlight thanks to Liam 30 years ago.

Though it looks like the new colour way is more of a fashion flop as people have likened the £400 jacket to clothing found in Lidl...

"My first encounter with Berghaus was through my brother Noel," Liam Gallagher said about the new Berghaus collection. "He purchased a green one in the late 80s and I was always pinching it off him.

"They were all the rage and I couldn't wait to get my hands on one of my own. I thought to myself, 'When I'm rich and famous, I'm getting myself one.

"I finally did that and I've still got it to this day."

Shortly after the collection was launched, many people took to social media to poke fun at the style and colour palette of the jacket. Red, yellow and blue just so happen to be the colours of budget supermarket Lidl.

And, to make matters worse, some pointed out that the designer attire could fit nicely in Lidl's own branded clothing range.

"Lad works in Lidl," one chucked over on X, formerly known as Twitter. Another user added: "Thought it was a Lidl parka." While a third mocked: "He working for Lidl now?"

Someone else quipped: "Proper Zoolander vibes." And a fifth tagged Lidl along with a photo of the supermarket clothing and said: "Complete the look."

Lidl model

Hmmm looks familiar...

Although, not everyone was so critical of the £400 jacket and its resemblance to Lidl fashion. Many people took the opportunity to comment on Liam's 'model' looks and that the colourful outerwear is a welcome change from his usual drab wardrobe.

One fan praised: "Thank gawd it's not that dreary dark colour. At least with that you would see him on the stage from the crowd."

A second applauded: "Woah! Looking fine! Love the colours, they bring out the blue of his eyes."

And another noted: "That’s their sales quadrupled overnight! Genius marketing move every kid is now online buying a jacket by Berghaus."
