Dulce La Cantante has died. She was 69.
The Mexican singer's family confirmed her death with a statement shared to her official Facebook page on Christmas Day.
"It is with deep sorrow that we confirm the passing of our beloved singer, Dulce.🕊️," the statement, translated from Spanish, began.

"We appreciate your support and respect for the family during these difficult times.🙏🏼," it continued.
It comes less than a year after Dulce revealed she had been diagnosed with a tumour, with the songstress sharing in March she had been hospitalised as a result.
By August, Dulce had been hospitalised again, saying the tumour – which had been on her kidney – was cancerous.

Three weeks before her death, Dulce said in a statement she had been hospitalised once more, but was expecting to be discharged within days.
"Following medical recommendations, I am hospitalised to treat a health condition that requires care and rest," she wrote on Instagram in a statement shared on December 2.
"I am calm, in good hands, and confident that I will soon be fully recovered."

It's understood she had undergone lung surgery, with her son-in-law Moisés González sharing the following week she had been battling a bout of pneumonia and the surgery was to treat her "delicate" condition.
"[Dulce] is still exhausted from the operation. It was a rather complex operation and she comes out in a lot of pain after it," González said on Mexican television program De primera mano.
"They are giving her the medications that are quite strong to prevent her from feeling more discomfort than she should. But this makes you very sleepy, you are constantly exhausted."

"Your body is doing everything possible to heal itself and this demands a lot of energy, and that is what still has her here in the hospital," he continued.
Born Bertha Elisa Noeggerath Cárdenas in 1955 in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, in northern Mexico, Dulce began her glittering career as a performer in the 1970s with the band Toby y Sus Amigos.
The following decade found Dulce take off as a solo artist thanks to hits Déjame Volver Contigo, Lobo, Tu Muñeca and Soy Tu Dama.
Legends of the music world, then and now
What followed were appearances in several soap operas over the years, and, notably, a stint on Siempre Reinas, the Netflix reality series also known as Forever Queens.
She had last toured in 2022 with the musical group Grandiosas, and had been forced to take time off from her series of scheduled appearances in early December as she battled her health complications.
Isabel Noeggerath, Dulce's sister, also paid tribute to the songstress in a statement shared to Facebook.

"Sister, you're already with our mum in heaven singing to her, I'm going to miss you rest in peace," Noeggerath wrote.
She concluded: "I love you."
Dulce was further remembered in a video montage shared to her official Instagram.

"With a career that transcended borders and genres, Dulce became one of the most iconic voices Mexico has given, a legacy that makes us vibrate and reflect," the caption read.
It continued: "But beyond her talent and her success, Dulce was a woman who taught us to believe in ourselves, to chase our dreams, and to never give up."
