As a new Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC this Autumn, rumors are swirling – as usual. Everything from Pete and Jowita “kissing,” to stars being foes behind the scenes are the subject of gossip. Earlier in October, Wynne Evans and Katya Jones had tongues wagging over a hand placement rumor.

The Strictly Come Dancing duo shut down any negative connotations around the ‘hand placement’ polava, but now they’re subject to new rumors. Some BBC show viewers are suggesting the pair “aren’t talking,” following an “awkward” performance in Week 8.

‘Wynne and Katya aren’t talking’

As opera singer Wynne and professional dancer Katya continue to make it through the rounds on Strictly series 22, viewers are conjuring up all kinds of rumors about them.

During Week 8, the two performed a Rumba to legendary singer Dame Shirley Bassey’s This Is My Life.

While many people took their hats off to Wynne and Katya, commenting: “Absolutely beautiful dance!! Backed with a theatrical ending. Fantastic!!!”, others suggest there’s an “awkward” air between the two.

One viewer tweets via X (Twitter): “Absolutely nothing will convince me that Katya and Wynne are speaking outside of their rehearsals/show time. they’re not even stood together again.”

More have said the two look “super awkward” in previous weeks on the show.

Although some are suggesting Wynne and Katya “aren’t talking,” the Welsh singer debunks the concept as he appears on Strictly spin-off, It Takes Two, per Border Counties Advertizer.

Speaking of Katya, Wynne sings his partner’s praises: “Even though she’s 20 years younger than me, she’s teaching me how to be more self-resilient and how not to look for validation from elsewhere, to find that love from within.”

As Wynne takes to the stage in Week 8, some fans are reading into his performance in a major way.
