Fans Rally Around Actress Following Emotional Instagram Post

Hallmark movie star Kimberly Williams-Paisley has posted a tribute to Charles Shyer, a director who really helped foster her entertainment career.

As some fans may know, Shyer directed “Father of the Bride,” in which Williams-Paisley starred. Shyer died on Friday, December 27 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. His daughter, Hallie Meyers-Shyer, told The Hollywood Reporter that her dad died at the age of 83 following a “brief illness.”

“When I was 19, Charles Shyer jump-started my career, and I’ll always be grateful for the opportunity he and Nancy Meyers gave me. They were my Hollywood family for a time, and I wouldn’t be who I am today without them. He will be missed. I’m sending so much love to the family,” Williams-Paisley captioned an Instagram post on December 28.

Along with her message, Williams-Paisley also shared a photo of her and Shyer on set.

In the comments section of Williams-Paisley’s post, dozens of fans sent their condolences.

“I’m so sorry for your loss, your words were kind saying what a sweet man he was,” one comment read.

“I am so very sorry for your loss, Kim,” another Instagram user added.

Additionally, Shyer’s daughter posted a note.

“Thank you, Kim. This is beautiful,” she wrote.


Charles Shyer Is Survived by His Ex-Wife, Nancy Meyers & Their 2 Daughters

Shyer had an extremely successful career in show business. He has more than a dozen credits to his name on IMDb, and had experience writing, producing, and directing.

Shyer is survived by his ex-wife, Nancy Meyers, who worked alongside Shyer on films like “Father of the Bride” and “The Parent Trap.” The two married in 1980 and divorced in 1999.

Shyer and Meyers welcomed two daughters, Hallie and Annie, during their marriage. The former posted about her dad on social media, calling him a “complete original” on her Instagram Stories. Meanwhile, Annie’s Instagram account is private.
