Fat Joe claimed he almost got 50 Cent and Ja Rule to squash their longstanding beef, but the latter, along with Murder Inc. Records co-founder Irv Gotti, wanted no parts.
During his sitdown conversation on Club Shay Shay, Fat Joe reflected on the beef between 50 and Ja in the early 2000s. According to Joe, he had a chance to get the two to settle their feud, but he soon realized these two would always be at odds, even if hip-hop culture would benefit from them moving on.
"I had it. I was squashing the beef," said Fat Joe. "I had it, and Irv and Ja was like, 'Nah, we ain't squashing shit. Yea, I swore I had it. I don't want to put it on 50, but I think 50 was almost like, 'Yo, Joe, whatever you want to do. So I had that, and then when I went to them, they was like, 'Fuck that.'"
He continued, "Do I recommend for beef to be 20-30 years? I think that's dumb. I think it should be over. I think it would show amazing growth for hip-hop music if those two squash their beef and we move on. Like me, I moved on. You gotta move on from these moments they're stuck on some shit. Just move on."
Joey Crack added that regardless of the feud, he's proud of both 50 and Ja for everything they've accomplished in their careers. He also explained how rap beef doesn't amount to success, as he lost a few brand deals because of his feud with 50, including working with Jordan Brand and Reebok.
