The first image has been revealed of actor Jeremy Allen White, known for his role in 'The Bear', playing Bruce Springsteen in the upcoming biopic 'Deliver Me from Nowhere'. In the photo, White is seen in an iconic pose of the 'Boss', wearing a red plaid shirt, a black leather jacket and a typical expression of the musician.
The film, written and directed by Scott Cooper, is based on Warren Zanes' book about the making of Springsteen's 1982 album 'Nebraska', an iconic work in Springsteen's discography. "The album's raw, unadorned depiction of life's trials and resilience resonates deeply with me," Cooper said in a statement. "Our film seeks to capture that same spirit, bringing it to the screen with authenticity and hope, and honoring Bruce's legacy," he said.
This project is the first authorized biopic about Bruce Springsteen, who has previously been the subject of numerous documentaries and gave his approval for the 2019 film 'Blinded By the Light', based on the memoirs of a fan of his music.
When is the release date, synopsis and cast of 'Deliver Me from Nowhere'?
'Deliver Me from Nowhere' is scheduled for release in the fall of 2025 and will coincide with the release of 'A Complete Unknown', the Bob Dylan biopic starring Timothee Chalamet.
"A film about Bruce Springsteen and the making of the 1982 album Nebraska. The work was created when the musician was struggling with depression, so it is full of dark songs and was commercially disappointing. Today it is considered a celebrated masterpiece," reads the official synopsis of the film.
As for the cast of the film, Jeremy Allen White will play Springsteen, while Jeremy Strong will portray Jon Landau, the musician's manager and producer. Paul Walter Hauser will play Mike Batlan, and Odessa Young and Harrison Gilbertson will round out the main cast.
