With the cold weather closing in and the threat of snow looming over us, there’s never been a better time to get your home feeling like a cosy haven. There’s nothing better than a scented candle to help create that warm, inviting atmosphere, and Frankie Bridge has been raving about one candle in particular that she can’t get enough.
The TV presenter shared a photo of a Discothèque Candle burning on Instagram, writing “We’re obsessed with these Discothèque candles at @favestheedit”. The specific candle Frankie was loving was Mudd Club, which has honey, whiskey and vanilla notes with several reviewers saying it smells just like caramel – perfect for a cosy Christmas scent.

Available at several retailers like Cult Beauty, Selfridges and Anthropologie for £54, the Discothèque Mudd Club Candle is inspired by Manhattan's post-punk underground club in the 1980s. It comes in a three-colour gradient glass jar to mimic the neon signs over club doors, and has a heady mixture of notes that transport you to a different time.

It then deepens into a base of honey, whiskey and vanilla as it burns, giving it that gorgeous rich caramel-scent shoppers have been loving. It also has a burn time of 45 hours.
One reviewer at Cult Beauty wrote: “I was so excited to get my hands on Mudd Club and honestly, I can not tell you how delicious this candle is. It's beautifully sweet and warm, without being overpowering. It fills the room incredibly, burns well, and visually? It looks gorgeous in my home. Believe me when I tell you, I will be getting each scent and filling my home with these candles!”

Unfortunately the scent throw is poor and you need to get real close to detect any scent, which is disappointing for a candle with this price point.”
Another reviewer couldn’t get enough though, saying: “As soon as I got this, I immediately lit this candle up. This is a sweet caramel scent, which is not usually a candle scent I go for but was so curious as it smelt like a summer holiday in a candle (honourable mention, that I love the MILK! one). I love the ombre on the packaging and will be repurposing it! This candle burns lovely and evenly, would recommend and would buy these candles as gifts for sure!”
Frankie isn’t the only one who’s been sharing her go-to candles for the festive season lately, as Louise Thompson recently included Jo Malone London’s Roasted Chestnut Home Candle, £59, in her go-to gifting round up. The candle is the ultimate winter scent, with Louise saying: “This candle smells like chestnuts roasting on a fire,” thanks to its notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, clove and soft caramel.
