French Montana is ready to share his story with the world, and with his upcoming documentary, fans will get an inside look at his life and personal journey. The French Montana Story: For Kadijah is set to premiere on Paramount+ on Nov. 19 and highlights his unique immigrant story.

In the official trailer above, clips range from showcasing the chart-topping rapper on stage in front of a roaring crowd, to his childhood and humble beginnings. Below, VIBE has an exclusive look at a moment where French Montana is able to bring his mother, Kadijah, to their home country of Morocco for the first time in almost 30 years.

“I dont know who’s more proud, me or my mother,” exclaims the 40-year-old narrating the moment. The preview features him and his mother happily embracing one another among family members. “I think that, to see my mother’s whole energy shift, and just bust into my room with her chest up, and happy and dancing…just to see her in that spirit, it’s something I always dreamed about.”

The French Montana Story: For Kadijah is directed by Mandon Lovett and executive produced by Michael Rapino and Ryan Kroft for Live Nation Productions alongside Karim “French Montana” Kharbouch for Montana Entertainment.

In full, the nonfiction work chronicles the diamond-selling rapper’s life as his single mother sacrifices everything to raise her three young sons in the Bronx, after being abandoned by their father and left destitute. According to a press statement, the film depicts the family’s unique immigrant journey, a son’s perseverance in the face of insurmountable obstacles, and a mother’s unwavering faith — all in pursuit of the American dream.

“This is the best project I’ve ever worked on in my life,” relayed Montana. The documentary features Drake, Fat Joe, Max B, Chinx, Harry Fraud, Rick Ross, Funkmaster Flex, Jim Jones, and more.

“It’s the first blueprint of an immigrant’s music dream, proving that anything is possible and it’s not about the awards, it’s about what we learn from the losses and sacrifices.”
