From Zendaya to Kim Kardashian and Maya Jama, all the stars who’ve tried to copy Cher’s iconic looks

SHE famously sang about wanting to turn back time and it seems today’s stars are doing just that, as they try to emulate Cher’s iconic looks.

Hollywood actress Zendaya donned a daring cutout gold dress, just like one worn by the legendary singer in 1972, to hail Cher’s induction at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on Saturday.

Zendaya, 28, said of 78-year-old Cher: “She is a constant reference point.

"Want to make 27 albums and win an Oscar? Cher did it.

“You want longevity? She’s so iconic, she only needs one name.

“She does it all — really f***ing well.”

As well as performing her 1989 hit If I Could Turn Back Time at the event, Cher was joined by pop star Dua Lipa, 29, for a duet of her 1998 No1 single Believe.

Dua also appeared to take style inspiration from the older star, with her black leather dress and fishnets matching Cher’s corseted top and leather shorts.

And they are not the only ones taking style inspo from Cher.

Cut-out-dresses have been the rage for the past few years, but Cher was a fashion frontrunner with the trend in her famous Oscars outfit of 1986.

TV presenter Maya Jama, 30, copied the look as she conducted red-carpet interviews at the Brit awards in 2022.

KIM KARDASHIAN

KIM, 44, has dubbed Cher her “number one style icon” and has channelled the star on a number of occasions, including this all-white ensemble with see-through trousers, similar to Cher’s outfit for the Grammys in 1974.

BEYONCE

QUEEN BEY, 43, wore Bob Mackie’s trademark flame dress at the Annual Kennedy Center Honors in 2005.

The designer also made a similar version of the sequinned gown for Cher in 1978.

KENDALL

LIKE her big sister Kim, Kendall, 28, seems to be a Cher fan.

The supermodel wore a metallic silver disco era-inspired dress to celebrate her 21st birthday, reminiscent of a gown Cher wore after a night at a New York club.

DUA LIPA

CHER upstaged everyone at the Met Gala with the original “naked” dress, created by Bob Mackie.

Dua, 29, resurrected the look for a show in Paris.

Her hair stylist captioned one photo: “A tres cher moment.”

J-LO

THE skin-matching, figure-hugging gown J-Lo, 55, wore to the Golden Globes bore a striking resemblance to the embellished dress the pop legend wore for The Sonny And Cher Comedy Hour.
