LW: Gino D'Acampo told not to kiss women on the panel

Former This Morning star Gino D'Acampo is no stranger to controversy but now he has found himself at the centre of serious allegations. Much known for his "cheeky chappy" persona, the 48-year-old TV personality is now reportedly being "iced out" from ITV.

Over the years, some of his jokes may have slightly crossed the line. From renaming toad in the hole as "sausage in the hole", to calling a pregnant Holly "up the fluff", Gino has regularly put his foot in it.

One memorable moment, as he appeared on This Morning, was when Gino stripped, but covered his modesty with an apron, as he presented a cooking segment back in 2011. At one point he even dropped the apron completely, leaving Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield utterly shocked and not knowing where to look, as he was completely in the nude.

But now it seems he has found himself in some serious hot water as the Italian chef stands accused of alleged inappropriate behaviour towards a female colleague over the course of five years. The reported incidents were said to have taken place when Gino was the resident chef on This Morning and on Saturday Cooks between 2006 and 2011.

The woman, who hasn't been named, is said to have been inspired to speak out after BBC's Gregg Wallace was forced to step away from MasterChef after complaints about his behaviour. The anonymous lady is said to have logged a complaint with ITV last week.

A source close to the complainant said: “She worked [with Gino] for five years. She has come forward after being spurred on by the Gregg Wallace scandal and the comment he made about his accusers being middle-class women of a certain age."

They added: "He said and did whatever he wanted. Everyone was aware and she was subjected to shocking behaviour which she told ITV about last week."

It comes as Gino was also reportedly accused of jokingly flashing on Emission Impossible - a show made by Betty TV, where he stars with Fred Sirieix.

Following the complaints, Gino was reportedly secretly edged out of Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip after refusing to sign a morality clause in his contract. He is also said, by the Sun, to have been put on a language and behavioural course by concerned executives. Neither Gino or ITV has commented on these allegations.

A morality clause, also known as a morals clause, is a provision within a contract that requires an individual or party to adhere to certain behavioural standards. The clause gives the other party the right to terminate the contract if the first party behaves in a way that negatively impacts the other party's reputation or image.

A source said: “Whilst Gino is very well-liked by some, he has fallen out with many. He loves a party and, ultimately, refused to sign the morality clause in his contract which would keep him on the straight and narrow.

"This was the final straw and the decision was made to part ways. He was quite stroppy on the set of Emission Impossible and, following an accident on set, the crew were offered therapy because they found the resulting fall-out very hard. Filming was halted and Gino was put on a training course."

They added: "Some of his humour and antics in 2024 have become increasingly hard to tolerate."

ITV said: "We made our position clear following the outcome of our KC Review last year after which we said, 'We are completely committed to creating an environment where everyone is treated with respect and feels able to give of their best'.

"Our promise to those we work with is that where a complaint is made, or serious concerns raised, we will always investigate and if we find that something inappropriate has happened, we will take action. We will continue to develop our efforts to give junior colleagues the confidence to speak up if they have something to raise.

"Following the review we reiterated our expectations and introduced Conduct and Standards Guidelines for On Screen Personalities which outlines our expectations in terms of behaviour, and have also previously offered training in language and behaviour, either directly or through our third party producers, where appropriate."

Giino's representatives did not respond immediately for comment.
