When users buy any of the Galaxy S25 phones announced at Samsung’s Unpacked event, Google’s paid Gemini Advanced model will be available for free for six months.
Google’s Gemini Advanced is the most premium tier one can get access to, as opposed to the free basic version of the AI model. Google touts this as a tool for complex tasks, and it proves to be a capable model utilizing Gemini 1.5 Pro and the experimental Gemini 2.0.
Samsung is currently partnering with Google to offer Galaxy S25 users a free six-month period of Gemini Advanced. Samsung says all S25 devices will come with Gemini Advanced and 2TB of cloud storage at no extra cost. That means the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra will all get you access to Gemini Advanced, though it is for a limited time. It’s worth noting that this access is account-wide, which will get you Advanced features on desktop or on mobile.
Gemini Advanced can provide a pretty heavy jump from the free version, especially since it offers Gems. Gems are specialized AI models within the larger model that allow you to fine-tune how Gemini approaches your input. Default Gems include Brainstormer, Career Guide, and Coding Partner, though you can define and create your own gems based on your personal needs.
Gemini Advanced is normally locked behind a $19.99/month premium, so users will need to pay that after the six-month gift period if they want to keep using it. The Galaxy S25 is officially available for pre-order through Samsung’s website starting at $799.
