Village People singer Victor Willis woke up Monday (Dec. 2) and chose violence, coming for the gays by way of one of the community's most beloved dance bops.
On Facebook, Willis, who co-wrote the iconic 1978 song "Y.M.C.A.," revealed he has changed his mind about allowing president-elect Donald Trump to use the song in public forums.
He explained that since Trump started dancing to the track at his rallies, he's been cashing out big time as the song has grossed “several million dollars" in royalties.
Willis also declared that the track was never meant to be a "gay anthem" and that he will sue anyone in the media who refers to it as such. (OK, sis.)
Since its release, LGBTQ+ communities worldwide have adopted "Y.M.C.A." as an unofficial anthem.
Although Willis doesn't "mind that gays think of the song as their anthem," he wants everyone to know it is not a gay anthem, apparently, and branding it as such is only meant to embarrass Trump by association.

"Therefore, since I wrote the lyrics and ought to know what the lyrics I wrote is really about, come January 2025, my wife will start suing each and every news organization that falsely refers to 'Y.M.C.A.,' either in their headlines or alluded to in the base of the story, that 'Y.M.C.A.' is somehow a gay anthem because such notion is based solely on the song’s lyrics alluding to elicit activity for which it does not," Willis shared.
Well, Mr. Willis, that's no problem — the gays can twirl to a Michael Bublé song while texting their ex in the club, so you can keep the "Y.M.C.A."
Instead, here are nine even better bops that are truly gay anthems. (Yes, Cher's here, don't worry!)
"Born This Way," Lady Gaga
"Firework," Katy Perry
"Vogue," Madonna
"Good Luck, Babe!," Chappell Roan
"Dancing on My Own," Robyn
"Believe," Cher
"It's Raining Men," The Weather Girls
"Raise Your Glass," P!nk
"Cut to the Feeling," Carly Rae Jepsen
