Reality TV sensation Vicky Pattison has taken a daring step by creating her own fake sex tape to delve into the world of deepfake pornography. T

The Geordie Shore star has gone behind the camera, producing and directing footage where her face is superimposed onto an actress's body.

This bold move is part of a Channel 4 documentary aimed at exposing the rise of deepfake porn and its damaging effects on women and girls. Vicky confessed that she "wrestled with the decision" knowing the video might become an indelible mark on the internet.

Deepfakes, which digitally manipulate people to appear as if they're in adult films without their consent, represent a new form of online sexual abuse, often leaving victims devastated. Newlywed Vicky, who tied the knot this summer with fashion honcho Ercan Ramadan, explained that she produced the video to "fully immerse herself in this world, and properly understand the depth of shock and violation victims of image-based abuse feel".

Vicky, 37, expressed her dedication to combating this growing issue: "I am hugely passionate about women's issues, and have found myself increasingly disturbed by how prevalent the problem of deepfake porn is becoming," she confessed.

"This is just the latest trend in the abuse of women and having met some of the inspirational women who have put their lives back together after being victims of sexually explicit deepfake abuse, I feel more strongly than ever that we need to stand with them and continue to put pressure on the greater powers within the government to catch up with the speed at which this technology is advancing."

Taking it a step further for a new docu-series, she declared: "As part of the documentary, I have made the challenging decision to release my own deepfake sex tape online, which I directed and produced with actors to ensure the process was fully consensual from start to finish. I wrestled with this decision for a long time, mulling over the permanence of it, and ultimately coming to accept the fact that this content may live online forever. Whilst I know this doesn't compare to the distress and horror actual victims feel when they discover this content of themselves, I hope it will give some insight into what they go through.", reports the Mirror.

Vicky aims to shine a light on this sinister trend and instigate real change: "My goal is to foster empathy and drive action and to contribute to a larger movement for justice and change, so victims feel supported, understood, and empowered to reclaim their voices and control."

The shocking video has been blasted onto social media to show her the dark side of how such content can go viral - and the steps to scrub it off the internet. With nearly 4,000 celebs already caught in the crosshairs, the government's cracking down with plans to outlaw the making of naughty deepfakes.

Vicky's set to chat with Northern Ireland's own Cara Hunter and Channel 4's Cathy Newman, plus a host of other gals away from the limelight. Channel 4's head honcho of serious stuff, Shaminder Nahal, reckons this "bold and insightful" doc will light up some real talk and get people thinking.

"Depressingly, almost every day, we hear about women being abused in different ways, and it's a priority for me as a commissioner to try to expose and address issues around women and violence, and to explore what can be done."

She's chuffed to bits with Vicky for diving headfirst into the murky waters of image-based abuse "in the most provocative and visceral way possible". She's banking on this gutsy and brainy flick to push the convo on X-rated deepfakes at a time when tech's zooming ahead so fast, we're left in the dust.

Film-maker Phil Mount has hailed Vicky Pattison's contribution to a new "brave and harrowing" documentary that delves into the dark side of tech advancements. He said: "Artificial intelligence is evolving at an unprecedented pace, bringing both groundbreaking opportunities and, at times, deeply troubling consequences. Vicky Pattison and the courageous participants who have lent their voices to this project have been instrumental in shining a light on an increasingly topical subject."

Reality TV fans will remember Vicky from her wild days on MTV's Geordie Shore between 2011 and 2014, before she moved on to other reality hits like Ex on the Beach and her own series Judge Geordie.

She nabbed the crown on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here in 2015 and then sashayed onto the Loose Women panel on ITV in 2016.
