George Clooney is set to make his Broadway debut in Good Night, and Good Luck next year, however the role has reportedly sparked concerns from his loved ones.

The 63-year-old actor will take on the lead role in the stage adaptation of his 2005 journalism drama from March 2025 at New York's Winter Garden Theatre.

In a statement earlier this year, he said: "I am honoured, after all these years, to be coming back to the stage, and especially to Broadway, the art form and the venue that every actor aspires to."

George's new project will reportedly spark struggles as it means spending a long period of time away from his wife Amal, 46, and their seven-year-old twins Ella and Alexander.

An insider claims that Amal's busy schedule as a Human Rights Lawyer and mother may mean that she won't be able to travel regularly to be close to her husband.

"Amal has got her hands full with her work as a human rights lawyer and the twins are in school," the source told New Idea Magazine.

"They won't be able to drop everything and head over every other weekend, even with private jets at their disposal.

"George plans on flying back whenever his schedule allows, but it's not going to be an easy time."

The source adds that there is also "some concern" about how he'll cope if his Broadway debut doesn't take off as well as he hoped, particularly as "Amal won't be directly on hand to pick up the pieces."

Despite this however, there is potential that the pair could make it work given their many homes across the States, the UK, and Lake Como in Italy.

George announced his latest project ahead of the pair's 10th wedding anniversary in September.

Discussing the pair's milestone, a source shared a potential reason behind their successful marriage.

They claimed to Heat Magazine: "One of the big reasons Amal and George work so well together is because they're independently successful and secure in their individual fields.

"They also have great nannies and their houses are like mini resorts."

The source went on to say that the couple leading "separate lives" while being under the same roof has become "an open joke" among friends, although both remain unfazed by the whispers.

"Most days they get together in the evening for dinner and a catch-up, but if they need to work into the night or head off to a business meeting, that's not something they sweat about," they added.

Reach PLC has contacted representatives for George and Amal for comment.
