Yesterday, People reported, citing multiple sources, that Zoë and Channing had broken up, almost a year after they got engaged and three years after becoming a couple.

The news also followed sightings of Zoë without her engagement ring.

As breakup reports swirled, Steve Kazee, who's currently dating Channing's ex Jenna Dewan, took to Instagram and wrote "haha" repeatedly, leading some to suspect he was shading Channing.

But Steve says he wasn't laughing at Channing — he was laughing at a TikTok he'd posted right after the "haha" post. It featured a dying plant alongside the words, "The houseplant in my kitchen watching me put water in the coffee maker."

Taking to his story, Steve wrote, "A guy can't laugh about a houseplant Tik Tok in todays world I see."

He shared a photo of his dying houseplant and said, "See? It's funny because it's relatable."

"Get a life," he added.
