One said: "Nile Rodgers was one of the first to self confirmed after Rod Stewart, so I could see maybe Duran Duran playing after Nile and before a Sunday headliner."

And the godfather of grunge Neil Young is also set to sign, having last played the Pyramid stage in 2009.

An insider told The Sun's Bizarre column: "Neil and his band The Chrome Heart are firming up plans for European dates next year and Glastonbury is on the cards."

The Sunday Legends slot this year was occupied by Shania Twain, who joined the likes of Dolly Parton, Kylie Minogue and Diana Ross in the Glastonbury hall of fame.

They have all taken to the Pyramid stage after the spot was launched after both Sir Tom Jones and Jonny Cash performed in 1992 and 1994.

But it officially began when Tony Bennett took to the stage after Britpop band Space.

Meanwhile, Alanis Morissette and Simple Minds have also been rumoured to play at the festival.

In 2024, headlining acts were Dua Lipa, Coldplay and SZA.
