Gogglebox's Giles was labelled 'creepy' by viewers after he disclosed the odd personal gifts he's given to women during the festive season.
Giles, who appears on the Channel 4 programme with his wife Mary, previously spoke about his knack for choosing Christmas presents following a report on shoppers hoarding gifts. He boasted to Mary about his gifting prowess, saying: "I always give people very nice presents, but they're very useful presents." However, Mary challenged his claim by recounting an instance when Giles gave out an unconventional Christmas gift.
She recalled: "I remember the year we went to stay with some people and there were five girls and you gave each one of them a free chlamydia test that you got from the doctor," as she struggled to contain her laughter. Giles seemed quite pleased with his unusual present choice, remarking: "I gave them a testing kit that I got free from the surgery. It seemed to kill two birds with one stone." The revelation left viewers at home gobsmacked, reports OK!

Nonetheless, some found Giles' gift-giving humorous, with one fan saying: "So Giles on Gogglebox gave his friends' five daughters a chlamydia test each as a Christmas gift... That man is a complete living legend!" Another was in stitches, posting: "Best start to #Gogglebox in a long time... #GilesandMary discussing Xmas gifts and Giles giving out chlamydia tests to the girls.... *crying uncontrollably*".
Giles and Mary, who joined the popular Channel 4 show Gogglebox in 2015, have become firm favourites among fans. The couple recently shared a throwback photo of themselves, which garnered much support from their followers. Despite being recognisable to viewers now, the pair looked remarkably different in the picture taken in the 90s when they were young adults. Giles was pictured in a navy blue polo shirt and striped hat, holding a glass of wine, while Mary wore a black and white heart-print blouse and a sun hat.
