Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt revealed that she almost eloped in Vegas with fiance Scott Dobinson.

In an exclusive interview with The Mirror, Scarlett, 34, revealed how she flew to Vegas with a white dress, planning a classic Elvis chapel wedding with just herself and her fiancé—no family in sight. We asked Scarlett, who had previously expressed her desire for a Vegas wedding, if she still planned to go through with it.

The TV star then revealed that she had already flown out to Vegas and attempted to get hitched. Scarlett said: ”Well, we actually went to Vegas. My parents wanted to take our little boy, Jude, on holiday, so they took Jude to Ibiza for the weekend. Me and Scott went to Vegas and I did take a white outfit, because I was like, ‘will we?', and then when we got there we were both like, actually, we really want our family around us, so we didn’t end up doing it but I actually did take an outfit.”

When we asked Scarlett why she had wanted a Vegas wedding, she said: “We love Vegas and I really want to have the same last name as my little boy and make that commitment to Scott but then [when I got there] I was like no, this [a Vegas wedding] just doesn’t feel right.”

She added: "In my head I always thought it would be really fun to get married in Vegas but then I was like, actually, no, it’s not the most romantic. I think it’s because we watch a lot of movies and loads of people get hitched in Vegas and it’s fun but [when we went there] we just had a good time instead.

Speaking about her upcoming wedding plans, Scarlett said: “After Christmas, we are going to sort out a wedding because I need my family there, Scott needs his family there. We have a small circle of friends, but they’re like family as well and I just think they’re the people that matter.

“And especially now that we have Jude, I’m like, I want him to be in the wedding pictures even though he won’t remember it, we’ll remember him there."

Scarlett said that she hasn’t prepped for her wedding, as of yet, but plans on starting after Christmas. She said: “I promise next year something will be sorted with this wedding otherwise I don't think it’s going to happen because we’re so laid back.

When asked for a wedding date, Scarlett said: “It’s probably going to be in 2026.”

What she has revealed, however, is that she plans to have the wedding in her hometown of County Durham, where she currently lives.

"I think we’re really lucky with where we live, Country Durham. There’s so many nice places, we live an hour away from the Lake District, so it would be silly not to take on the opportunity of getting married up here.”

Policeman Scott popped the question to Scarlett in November 2023. A delighted Scarlett, who said yes, shared a photo on Instagram featuring her baby, a beautiful candlelight display, balloon arrangement, rose petals, and a sign that read "Marry Me."

Scarlet captioned that post: “Mondays are my new favourite day. Walked in to find my soulmate on one knee, with baby Jude wearing the cutest outfit asking the question, 'Mammy will you marry Daddy?' The most perfect proposal in my favourite place, our home. I truly am on cloud nine, feel so lucky, it feels incredible being able to share this with you all, I always wished for this."

The star's career took off after winning I'm A Celeb following her time on Gogglebox. But the Bushtucker Trial wasn’t her last challenge—more recently, she tested the world’s first ‘Drive-Thru Bubble Wrap’ machine with AA Accident Assist to raise awareness about the coverage drivers can get for minor scrapes, dents, or dinks to their cars.

Scarlett praised the 24/7 claims support service, saying: "Because my car is like my second child, and the fact that no matter how big or small your dink or bump is, they'll deal with it, makes me feel more chill because then I feel like I'm not being dramatic."
