Golden Globes 2025: Date, time, host and where to watch the awards ceremony for free

We are just days away from the 82nd annual Golden Globe Awards, which will take place on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

The Golden Globes, often referred to as "Hollywood's Party of the Year", is the world's largest awards ceremony that celebrates the best in film and television.

The official digital pre-show for the 82nd Annual Golden Globe Awards Red Carpet Live, will be presented in partnership with Entertainment Tonight and Variety returns on Sunday, January 5, 2025, hosted by Rachel Smith (Entertainment Tonight correspondent) and Marc Malkin (Variety senior culture and events editor).

Who will host the 2025 Golden Globes?

Emmy-nominated comedian and actress Nikki Glaser will host "Hollywood's Biggest Party" to lead the way for the big gala.

"I'm so excited to be hosting the Globes this year," Nikki said. "It's one of my favorite nights of the year. The Globes are an incredible opportunity to celebrate the best in film and television, but it's also a big night for comedy."

"It's one of the few times in showbiz where you're not only allowed, but encouraged, to be the butt of affectionate jokes (at least I hope so)," expressed the host of the event.

When and what time will the 2025 Golden Globes take place?

The grand event of the 82nd Annual Golden Globe Awards will take place on Sunday, January 5, 2025.

The event will begin at 3:30 p.m. PT / 6:30 p.m. ET on Variety and Penske Media platforms.

It will air live at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET on CBS and streaming on Paramount+ in the United States (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the special airs).*

Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers will have access to the live stream through their local CBS affiliate's live signal on the service, as well as On Demand.

Expected moments at the 2025 Globo Awards

Viola Davis, actress, producer and Golden Globe winner, will be honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award.

Golden Globe-winning actor Ted Danson will be honored with the Carol Burnett Award.

Selena Gomez is nominated for Emilia Perez and Only Murders in the Building.

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo are nominated for Wicked, so be sure to make room for their Glinda and Elphaba-inspired looks.

Miley Cyrus is nominated for Best Original Song, which could be a precursor to an Oscar nomination/performance.

Zendaya is nominated for Challengers, so we can expect the red carpet to serve the case.
