Google’s Next Move: Pixel Tablet 2 with Keyboard in the Works!

Google is reportedly planning to unveil its next tablet soon, named as Google Pixel Tablet 2. The company launched its first Pixel tablet in 2023 with charging speaker dock sold with each device. Now the new reports claim that the tech giant could soon launch its next Pixel Tablet.

What We Know So Far:

Google Pixel Tablet 2 was earlier spotted with a code name QPR3 in the first beta of Android 14. The codename includes two new entries: “Clementine” and “Kiyomi”. The first Pixel Tablet had “Tangor” and “Tangorpro” when they were in development.

Speculations are at the rife, that the Pixel Tablet will launch with a newer camera. To recall, the original Pixel tablet was launched with the 8MP with ƒ/2.0, 1/4-inch sensor, 1.12μm, 84-degree FoV camera on both front and the back.

However, we don’t know the exact camera specs on new version of Pixel Tablet, but one thing we can be sure that the company could come up with the improved camera specs. As far as chipset is concerned, Google can launch its Pixel Tablet 2 with an improved chipset- Tensor G4 or upcoming Tensor G5 chip as compared to the Tensor G2 fitted in original Pixel tablet.

Another essential feature that’s coming up in rumor is the addition of a keyboard cover which will be attached to the tablet via pogo pins on the rear of the device. If that happens then the tablet can be placed on the table just like a laptop. Another leaks suggest that the upcoming Pixel 2 could also come up with the stylus and keyboard accessories which the company ditched in the first Pixel tablet over quality concerns.

Google Pixel Tablet Specifications:

Google Pixel Tablet is equipped with 10.95-inch WQXGA display with 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution, 16:10 aspect ratio, 276 PPI, 500 nits brightness, USI 2.0 touch pen compatibility, and antifouling coating. It is powered by Google Tensor G2 processor and Titan M2 security coprocessor and runs on Android 13. The tablet has 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128 GB/256 GB UFS 3.1 storage.

For cameras, the tech giant has given 8MP rear camera with LED flash. There could be an 8MP shooter on the front for video chats. To power the tablet there’s 27Wh battery with 15W charging via speaker dock or USB-C charger.
