Google Wallet Pixel 9 promo combines $150 discount with $100 prepaid gift card

Google Wallet is running a curious promotion that complements the existing Google Store sales on the Pixel 9, 9 Pro, and 9 Pro XL with a $100 Prepaid Mastercard gift card.

This is an interesting way to raise awareness about Google Wallet. It’s framed as giving you the ability to “Carry Google Wallet on the most powerful Pixel phones yet.”

Add a card, add a ticket, add a pass – experience Google Wallet on the latest, most powerful Pixel phones.

The messaging also has a “Security your Wallet can depend on” section: “With Google Tensor G4 and the Titan M2 security chip, Pixel helps keep your personal info safe. Your online activity is also protected with VPN by Google.”

This promotion starts with the existing $150 discount on the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL, with the fine print suggesting the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is also eligible. On top of that, Pixel 9 buyers will “get a $100 Prepaid Mastercard to add to Google Wallet for a total of up to $250 back.”

While supplies last, you will receive a $100 prepaid Mastercard® via email 10-11 business days following your purchase.

Notably, this is limited to 800 gift cards: “Ends 12/28/2024 at 11:59 pm PT; while supplies last. Quantity of 800 available, subject to change. One prepaid card per Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, or Pixel 9 Pro Fold purchase with use of Google Store discount code sent in email. All products must be purchased at the same time to receive offer.”

The email detailing this promo has a promotion code for the Google Store. This offer ends December 28, 2024. Other things to note:

  • “Upon making a qualifying purchase on the Google Store, you will receive an email within 10-11 business days with instructions to add a $100 prepaid Mastercard to your Google Wallet. This promotional offer is valid only while supplies last and requires a US-registered Google Pay profile. The card can be used where debit Mastercard is accepted via Google Wallet, though tap-to-pay functionality may not be supported by all merchants. Google is not liable for retailer limitations.”
