Gregg faces allegations of sexual misconduct (Image: BBC)
Reform UK MP Lee Anderson has launched a scathing attack on MasterChef co-presenter Gregg Wallace, who recently stepped down from the popular show amid an investigation into allegations of historical misconduct.
Wallace, 60, is facing allegations from 13 individuals over a 17-year period across various programs. However, it was his response to the complaints that drew sharp criticism from Anderson.
In a video posted on Instagram, Wallace dismissed the accusations as originating from "middle-class women of a certain age".
His comments quickly sparked outrage, with public figures like Ulrika Jonsson branding them “crude and sleazy”.
Anderson, known for his outspoken nature, did not hold back in his response. “I don’t think it’s a class issue at all. I think it’s more to do with these women having good eyesight and a dislike of inappropriate comments from pervy old men,” Anderson said.

The fallout from Wallace’s comments has been swift. He has been removed from his position as an ambassador for the charity Ambitious About Autism and has since issued an apology, stating he plans to “take some time out”.
Production company Banijay UK has launched an external review into the allegations, with Wallace pledging to cooperate fully. Despite this, the BBC has faced heavy criticism for its handling of the situation.
Reports suggest that concerns about Wallace’s behaviour were raised as early as 2017, yet he continued in his role until the allegations recently surfaced.
The controversy comes at a difficult time for Wallace, who has been a prominent face of British television.
His remarks, however, have cast a shadow over his career, with many questioning whether he truly understands the gravity of the allegations against him. His statement about “middle-class women” has been widely condemned as dismissive and out of touch.

Anderson’s critique of Wallace adds another chapter to his own recent controversies.
On November 6, 2024, Anderson was directed to apologise in the House of Commons after an investigation by the Independent Expert Panel found that he had breached Parliament's bullying and harassment policy.
The incident involved Anderson swearing at a security officer in November 2023. He was found to have used inappropriate language and was required to issue a formal apology.
Anderson’s comments about Wallace reflect his blunt style, which has often landed him in the spotlight.
While the Reform MP is no stranger to controversy, his remarks about Wallace highlight the growing backlash against the MasterChef presenter, whose handling of the allegations continues to attract public and media criticism.
