'Grey's Anatomy' Stars Share Mystery Drone Theories

16 hours ago 2

Two Grey's Anatomy stars are the latest to share their theories on the mystery drones appearing in skies across the country.

What To Know

Actresses Camilla Luddington and Jessica Capshaw spoke about the drones on their podcast, Call It What It Is.

They addressed different theories as to what the mysterious flying objects, which began in November, are and why they keep appearing.

Why It Matters

The drones have raised national security concerns and been the subject of investigations by the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security.

The agencies announced that they believed there was no evidence connecting the drones to a foreign actor or indicating any malicious intent.

What People Are Saying

The actresses shared their theories on the drones in the latest episode of the podcast with guests and fellow thespians Rachel Bilson and Olivia Allen.

"When you guys were coming, I wanted to know if they were open to talking about aliens, and it feels right to talk about it because of the whole drone situation," Capshaw began. "It's all over the world right now."

They then discussed why they believed it might be aliens and how they would be disappointed if the drones turned out to be "something regular."

Allen referenced the Leonardo DiCaprio movie Don't Look Up, which featured an impending asteroid hurtling towards Earth and how the powers that be tried to distract the general public so they would not worry.

"That's what's happening with the drones is we're not getting any answers. Nobody's saying what they are. They're literally coming out going, 'we don't know what they are, we'll get back to you. More will be revealed,'" she said of the government response. "And nobody has an answer of what these lights in the sky."

The four actresses also spoke about "dark" theories that existed online or that the drones are a "distraction" by the government to "do something behind our backs."

They acknowledged that many of the theories seem far-fetched, but agreed they would prefer the drones to turn out to be aliens.

"Maybe Santa will bring us aliens for Christmas," Luddington said.

What's Next

President Joe Biden contacted Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and the Pentagon multiple times in December to get answers as to what the drones might be.

The White House has said there is nothing to worry about regarding the drones, but the Federal Aviation Administration still ordered a temporary ban on drones in areas of New Jersey and in New York citing "special security reasons."
