Grimes Calls 'Talented' Azealia Banks the 'da Vinci of Insults'

Grimes attempted to diffuse a pretty awkward interaction with Azealia Banks over the platform formerly known as Twitter earlier today by being nothing but complimentary towards the rapper.

The situation started with someone posting an image of Grimes as Glinda and Banks as Elphaba with the former allegedly commenting, "Hate to say it but wouldve been kinda lit." In response to the post, Banks went off, taking aim at Grimes' personal and professional life.

Banks did not stop there.

Grimes tried to clarify that the image was merely a joke and there was never any intent to paint Banks as a villain even though there's a case to be made that Elphaba...you know what, nevermind.

Grimes not only wanted to use the opportunity to clear up a few misconceptions about how her split from Elon Musk occurred, but also praise Banks for being "insanely talented" and wishing the “212” rapper the best.

"Ur insanely talented," Grimes wrote. "even after all this, I want u to win. god bless Mlady."

While on the topic of providing clarifications, Grimes expanded on that time that Banks said she smelled like a roll of nickels.

Grimes went on to call Banks the "best hater on the planet" and the "da Vinci of insults."

"At a point I just gave up and accepted that I appreciate the madness of existence," Grimes explained.
