Grimes has revealed that she felt ‘way less gay’ after her pregnancy with her first child with Elon Musk.
The singer, 36, has taken to social media to discuss her pregnancy with her first child, revealing that she felt less attracted to women after having a baby.
The Canadian singer revealed on X: ‘I became way less gay after I was pregnant, my ability to focus on reading and writing went way up, as did my general creativity, but my ability to focus on technical things went *way* down. Is this all explained by hormones?’
When a fan commented to explain what she meant, the artist clarified: ‘Just less interested in dating girls.’
The comment sparked a huge amount of debate online as fans rushed to discuss their own experiences.
One fan commented that perhaps it wasn’t her pregnancy hormones but the fact that she was in a heterosexual relationship with Elon Musk at the time that affected her sexual preferences.
The singer, whose real name is Claire Elise Boucher, replied that her former relationship with the Tesla and SpaceX owner should have made her ‘more gay’ if anything.
At the time of her pregnancy, the singer was in a relationship with her ex Elon Musk. The pair got together in 2018 and had their first child in 2020.
The couple ‘semi-separated’ in 2021 and the pair had a fluid relationship for years and had two more children via surrogate.
The couple caused controversy when they named their first child X Æ A-Xii, who is currently four years old.
The couple has two other children together named Exa Dark Sideræl, two, and Techno Mechanicus, two.
The singer has never spoken clearly or defined her sexuality but has previously spoken about ‘colonizing Europa,’ one of Jupiter’s moons to start a ‘lesbian space commune.’
On September 29 last year, Grimes sued Musk, for primary physical custody and joint legal custody of their children.
According to multiple US outlets, the singer sued her former partner and filed a petition in California to ‘establish parental relationship’.
Texas courts sealed the case, making the results unavailable to public access.
