Grimes opened up about her concerns with fame - particularly after Elon Musk's controversial public outings with their eldest child

Singer Grimes shares X Æ A-12, four; Exa Dark Sideræl Musk, three; and Techno Mechanicus, two, with former partner Elon Musk. While the world quickly became fascinated by her unusual relationship with the tech billionaire, Grimes has admitted that she'd rather keep some parts of her co-parenting with Musk away from the spotlight.

Grimes has been clear that she doesn't want any of their children in the public eye, saying back in January that she doesn't approve of her son X being paraded "around like Michael Jackson’s Chimpanzee." She said: "I have made it clear I do not approve of that in every conceivable way I know how. I am desperate to solve it. It is a personal tragedy to me. But currently I don't know how to do that."

Despite her words, Musk has continued to take X to join him at very public events - even involving him in political rallies and TV press conferences with US President Donald Trump. Grimes blasted Musk for putting X on TV without her prior knowledge or approval this month, while a clip recently went viral of the toddler with his dad at a MAGA rally in January, with Musk calling X a "very enthusiastic supporter" of the Republican movement as thousands of people cheered.

"I would really like people to stop posting images of my kid everywhere. I think fame is something you should consent to. Obviously, things will just be what they are. But I would really, really appreciate that. I can only ask, so I'm just asking," she told Time Magazine in a recent interview.

Grimes - real name is Claire Elise Boucher - also shared that she struggles with social media forums when it comes to her fanbase, and has a problem with one platform in particular but feels as if they are coming from the "right place" in some ways.

She said: "Just the Reddit. Everyone else is fine. Honestly, the angrier they get, the more my streaming goes up. So I suppose it's fine, but I would definitely appreciate a less toxic vibe in the fan base. But, you know, it is what it is. That's where I have to rush music out: they always chill out when there's music. I just need to give them some art.

"I think when people are upset, it usually is actually coming from the right place. I won't go into some of the conspiracy theories, but it's insane what some of the things that people think. And I cannot correct them constantly because they become a giant press cycle whenever you correct them, and then the press are like, 'Grimes responds to allegations' of whatever they think I wish to do."

Grime's comments about fans and fame - particularly where concerning her three children with Musk, come days after she begged the Tesla founder to speak to her so they could get help for one of their children, saying they were at risk of a “life-long impairment” unless they got medical attention.

“Plz respond about our child’s medical crisis. I am sorry to do this publicly but it’s no longer acceptable to ignore this situation. This requires immediate attention. If you don’t want to talk to me can you please designate or hire someone who can so that we can move forward on solving this. This is urgent, Elon," she wrote on Musk's own platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

Grimes also spoke out earlier this months after Musk involved their oldest son X in a televised White House conference without informing her.

The young boy played around in the Oval Office while his dad - who works as the co-head of the Department of Government Efficiency - and Donald Trump answered questions. One fan addressed a Tweet to Grimes about the boy, praising: "Lil X was very polite today! You raised him well. He was so cute when he told DJT 'please forgive me, I need to pee.'"

Grimes made it clear in response that she was unaware of X being with Trump on TV, and didn’t approve of it. "He should not be in public like this. I did not see this, thank you for alerting me. But I'm glad he was polite. Sigh,” she wrote.
