Grimm Is Making a Comeback as a Streaming Movie

Grimm: The Movie

Deadline reports Peacock is developing a reboot movie based on the 2011 NBC series Grimm from writer Josh Berman and series’ creators David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf. Though details on the plot are currently unavailable, the movie is “believed to have ties to the series for diehard fans but could also be easily accessed by new viewers not familiar with the original mythology as it introduces new mythology and characters.” If successful, the follow up movie could potentially launch a new franchise.

Thunderbolts*

Sebastian Stan compared Thunderbolts* to The Breakfast Club during a recent interview with Deadline.

[Thunderbolts* is] its own thing. I don’t feel you can compare it to any previous Marvel movie, and that’s because of the group of characters in this film and these actors. I couldn’t have had a better time than I did with David Harbour, Florence Pugh, Wyatt Russell, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. I mean, every single one of these people are funny, they’re generous, and so I think a lot of that chemistry did make it into the movie, and I’m excited for people to see that. It’s a little bit like The Breakfast Club. It has its own vibe, and it’s funny, and it’s real, and we did actual real stunts, like when you’re watching a truck blow up, it’s a truck blown up. It’s not CGI. Marvel really wanted this to have its own- there were many things in the movie that were actually done practically, and I think that does go a long way, because people are just smart. I think audiences just, they know.

Toy Story 5

Appearing as a guest on Good Morning America, Tim Allen confirmed he’s now recording the third act of Toy Story 5, only revealing “there’s a lot of real intrigue with Buzz” and “Jessie’s got a big trouble” and “needs help.”

I’ve already begun, I’m in the third act now. It’s remarkable what they’ve done… with Pixar they didn’t say I couldn’t say anything but…I wish I could…There’s a lot of real intrigue with Buzz. Jessie’s got a big trouble, she needs help, so it’s a really cool thing.

The Monkey

According to Bloody-Disgusting, Osgood Perkins’ film adaptation of Stephen King’s The Monkey has been rated “R” for “strong bloody violent content, gore, language throughout, and some sexual references.”

Wolf Man

A new Wolf Man featurette discusses the film’s “very different” practical effects, which allegedly caused crew members to approach designer Arjen Tuiten with the encouraging words, “I don’t get scared easily, but this is one of the scariest things I’ve seen….”

Popeye’s Revenge

Popeye is reimagined as a the ghost of a “little boy who drowned” in the trailer for Popeye’s Revenge, the second killer Popeye movie following Popeye the Slayer Man.

The Penguin

In conversation with Screen Rant at the Golden Globes, The Penguin co-showrunner Lauren LeFranc confirmed Theo Rossi’s character, Dr. Julian Rush, does not become the Scarecrow in Matt Reeves’ “Batman Epic Crime Saga.”

Well, I can say he’s not the Scarecrow.

Outlander

Finally, TV Line has an image from Outlander‘s January 17 for its season finale, “A Hundred Thousand Angels,” confirming Claire did indeed survive last week’s surgery.
