Gypsy Rose Blanchard opened up about her sex life with ex Ryan Anderson, revealing that she didn’t enjoy their time in the bedroom.
“I still struggled when I first came out of prison,” Gypsy, 33, told People on Monday, December 9, while discussing her sex life after she was released from Chillicothe Correctional Facility in Chillicothe, Missouri.
After she was released early on parole in December 2023, Gypsy took to social media to boast about her relationship with Ryan, 38, and memorably declared that his “D is fire.” The former couple – who tied the knot while she was behind bars in 2022 – consummated their marriage shortly after she was released.
Despite once bragging about their sex life, Gypsy admitted to the outlet that her and Ryan’s “sex life was not ideal.” She continued, “I told him privately. Maybe it was a lack of attraction in that area or if I still wasn’t processing properly.”
In Gypsy’s new memoir, My Time to Stand, she detailed experiencing sexual abuse throughout her childhood and claimed that ex Nicholas Godejohn was abusive during their relationship. Both Gypsy and Nicholas, 35, were arrested for the murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, in 2015 and he is currently serving a life sentence.
However, her stance on sex changed when she reconnected with current boyfriend Ken Urker. The pair were engaged and split when she was behind bars, and they rekindled their romance after she and Ryan called it quits in March. They reached a settlement in their divorce in December, according to TMZ.
“When Ken came into the picture again, you’ve got to understand there was seven years of built up tension there and it was amazing,” she revealed about their first sexual experience together. “I was able to feel comfortable with him.”
Gypsy added that she has “gotten past” the sexual abuse she experienced, though said that there are still times that she’s “uncomfortable” and she will “voice that” with Ken, 31. “But I’m very open and vocal with Ken about my needs,” she added.
Soon after confirmed her romance with Ken in April, Gypsy announced that they were expecting their first child together in July.
“I’m happy to announce that I am 11 weeks pregnant. Ken and I are expecting our very first child come January of 2025,” Gypsy said in a video posted via YouTube on July 9. “We’re both very excited. This was not planned at all. It was completely unexpected.”
She also reflected on her pregnancy while speaking to People, sharing that she had “a great first two trimesters.” The author shared that she had “no morning sickness” and the experience was “peaceful.” Gypsy continued, “But now that I’m in my third trimester and the eighth month, I can’t sleep. I can’t breathe, I can’t do anything.”
“I’m really excited to just obviously bring her into the world and have a lot of family time together,” Gypsy said. “I’m transitioning to a more private life, but it’s going to be a slow transition.”
