Halle Bailey’s optimistic gesture has backfired as she’s received a heap of drawback for calling out DDG over a live video with their son.

The YouTuber and rapper took baby Halo for a live stream with Kai Cenat during his “Mafiathon 2,” where millions of fans tuned in. Although the visit seemed harmless, Bailey went off on X, noting that she didn’t approve of the visit and that it added to her “severe postpartum.”

“Hi everyone. just so you know i am out of town and i don’t approve of my baby being on a stream tonight,” Halle said in a since-deleted post on Wednesday (Nov. 6). “I wasn’t told or notified and i am extremely upset to have my baby in front of millions of people. I am his mother and protector and saddened that i wasn’t notified especially when i am out of town.”

In a follow up post, she added, “As a woman experiencing severe postpartum, there are boundaries that I wish to be respected. nobody knows what someone is going through until they snap.”

However, it appeared that many fans weren’t feeling her criticism—sparking a debate online.

“Girl why tf you telling us?” one person commented on Instagram. “And then when people express their opinions you and ddg are gonna tell us to mind our business correct? Call your baby daddy and take that sh*t up with him. Trump is now president we got other sh*t to talk about.” Another person said, “So he can’t go on live stream with his own son but she can…..definitely seems a lil controlling to me.”

On the flip side, some fans understood where Bailey was coming from.

“Y’all gotta understand the internet is mean … and very harsh I’d be uncomfortable too,” said a third person. “People saying he still the dad don’t understand how the protection of a mother feels.. she obviously feels disrespected and her postpartum is making it worse. And she’s a first time mom. The ones who get it .. get it,” commented another.

Within the stream, Halo comfortably sat in his dad’s lap as Kai showered him with gifts. However, some pointed out that Kai’s home was swatted last month during his “Mafiathon,” presumably making it an “unsafe” environment for baby Halo.

Bailey could have possibly been on edge about the latter in addition to splitting from DDG last month—all ahead of Halo hitting the one-year mark.

Hours after her initial posts about the live stream garnered drawback, Bailey deactivated her Instagram and X.
