Saturday Kitchen viewers were left divided over Harry Hill's appearance on the BBC show, with some branding him "hard work" as he discussed his new book on the cookery show
Saturday Kitchen: Harry Hill shows off his 'gagvent calendar'Saturday Kitchen fans were left divided after comic Harry Hill appeared in today's episode (December 21).
Known for his quirky, slapstick gags, Harry joined host Matt Tebbutt on the BBC programme's festive finale to chat about his latest book, How to Be Silly Every Day of the Year. Also on the show were Poppy O'Toole, Anna Haugh and Owen Morgan.
While Harry kept the crew in stitches with his one-liners, viewers were torn about his humour, with some labelling it as "cringe".
Hopping onto X, previously known as Twitter, one fan showered the telly star with compliments: "Harry Hill is quality. How can anyone not like him...by not liking him I suppose."
However, another snapped back: "I'm one! Can't stand him! Makes me cringe!", while another defender typed: "I love Harry Hill, he's so silly and clever at the same time!"
Someone else lamented: "B****y Harry B****y Hill. Christmas is ruined." Pointing out that perhaps not everyone in-studio was chuckling, another quipped: "Wow! This is hard work! Time to turn over - the fake laughter is too much!"
Yet another person tweeted their support: "Loving Harry Hill on #SaturdayKitchen. He's hilarious" and someone else praised: "I b****y love Harry Hill."
Despite the polarising views online, the Saturday Kitchen guests seemed to be having a blast with Harry's guest appearance, reports the Express.
Poppy, famed as a Young MasterChef judge, took to Twitter in a flurry of excitement, exclaiming: "Tune in now BBC1 at 9.30am for @SaturdayKitchen where I can't believe I'm sharing the screen with the icon Harry Hill. I'M READY!"
The telly chef's fans promptly swarmed her post with comments, some even giving nods to her panel ensemble. Yet, amidst the praise, one critical viewer took aim at Poppy, aged 29, demanding: "What's with the fake laugh!"
Without missing a beat, she clapped back: "OMG yeah imagine laughing at comedian Harry hill. What has the world come to x."
Saturday Kitchen returns next Saturday (December 28) at 9.30am on BBC1 and iPlayer
