Heidi Klum Set to Return to Project Runway for Season 21

Heidi Klum is returning as a host for season 21 of Project Runway. 

Like she always used to say in fashion — one day you’re in, and the next day, you’re out. And this season, Heidi is so in! 

As part of a deal with Spyglass Media Group, the Disney network closed a deal last October to bring back the reality competition for a new 10-episode season in 2025. 

The new season of Project Runway will premiere on Freeform and will be available to stream on Disney+ and Hulu. 

Fashion Trends Always Come Back 

Heidi hosted the original Project Runway (which aired on Bravo) from 2004 to 2017.

When the model exited the franchise after the 2017 season, she posted a statement saying: 

“After 16 incredible seasons, I am saying ‘Auf Wiedersehen’ to Project Runway, a show that I was honored to host and help create. I am incredibly proud of the show, and it will always have a special place in my heart. I am so appreciative of the dedicated fans, and most of all, I am grateful that we could shine a light on creativity and help launch so many talented designers’ careers.”

After Heidi left, Project Runway hosts included model Karli Kloss and fashion designer, Christian Siriano. 

In addition to the revolving door of hosts, Project Runway has seen many networks. Premiering on Bravo, then transitioning to Lifetime; the franchise moved back to Bravo and now has found its home on Freeform. 

A premiere date or fellow judges/mentors have not yet been announced at this time. 

As a Project Runway fan, I am SO excited that Heidi is back. I would love to see Tim Gunn return as well since Heidi and Tim banter is quintessential Project Runway. I also have to wonder if Nina Garcia has gotten a call to reclaim her title as one of the esteemed judges.
