Rod Wave and GloRilla both debuted in the Top 5 of the Billboard 200.
According to Billboard, Wave's latest album, Last Lap, debuted at No. 2, right behind Jelly Roll's Beautifully Broken, which topped the chart with 161,000 equivalent album units earned.
Wave's effort, which came in with 127,000 equivalent album units earned, marks his 10th consecutive top 10 debut, however, his streak of three consecutive No. 1 albums comes to an end. Last Lap includes 23 tracks and features guest appearances from Be Charlotte, Lil Baby, Lil Yachty, Rylo Rodriguez, and Wild Rivers. It was supported by the singles "Passport Junkie" and "Fall Fast in Love."
As for Glo, her album Glorious marks her first ever top 10 with its No. 5 debut. In addition to having her first Top 10 album, Glo has also secured her highest charting project on the Billboard 200 chart as her last effort, Anyways, Life's Great, debuted at No. 11. Glorious comes equipped with 15 tracks and features Latto, Sexyy Red, Muni Long, Kirk Franklin, Megan Thee Stallion, BossMan Dlow, T-Pain, Fridayy, and more. The project also includes GloRilla's viral hits "Hollon" and "TGIF."
In a recent appearance on Complex's 360 With Speedy, GloRilla explained how critics who said her career was on the decline following the release of her hit songs "F.N.F." and "Tomorrow 2" ignited her to do better.
"I pay attention to it. It feels good, actually. I love it, like it help you," Glo said. "Sometimes people need it, like cause sometimes we get comfortable, and sometimes we need to hear people talk shit or criticism and shit and so we can make us remember, 'Ok, I got to get back on my P and turn back up.' So I actually liked it. It actually made me way better."
