Steve Peacocke was everyone’s favourite bad boy in the 2010s playing Darryl ‘Brax’ Braxton on Home and Away.

It’s nearly a decade later and people would still love to see him return to Summer Bay.

However, his life has changed a lot since then, between marking his 10-year wedding anniversary to his soap co-star to becoming a father for the first time.

How old is Steve and where is he from?

Steve was born on 30 October 1981, making him 43 years old. He is originally from Dubbo in New South Wales, Australia.

The soap star studied communications at the University of Newcastle. While there he took a drama class taught by Glenn Hazeldine, who encouraged him to take up acting.

During his twenties he took on different labouring jobs, including unloading freight trucks and working as a jackaroo for $3 an hour which is a person who works on a sheep or cattle station.

What show has Steve starred in?

Steve got his big break after joining Home and Away in 2011, where he played Darryl ‘Brax’ Braxton - the leader of the River Boys.

He made his last appearance in Summer Bay in 2016, and went on to play Stephanos in the 2014 production of Hercules alongside Dwyane ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

He starred as Nic in 2016’s Whiskey Tango Foxtrot with comedian Tina Fey and as Nathan, a medical assistant, in 2016’s Me Before You with Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke.

After heading to Hollywood, he returned to Australia. He has enjoyed long stints on television.

He starred on Five Bedrooms as Ben Chigwell between 2019 and 2023. Currently, he is working on RFDS: Royal Flying Doctor Service as Pete Emerson and The Newsreader as Rob Rickards. He joined both shows in 2021.

This year, he played Dylan Mackenzie in six episodes of the show Human and Error and was in the movie Before Dawn as Cpl Beale.

Who is Steve’s wife?

Steve’s wife is married to actress Bridgette Sneddon. The couple started dating well before she appeared on the soap. They were studying at the University of Western Sydney when they crossed paths.

Bridgette appeared in Home and Away as Sophie Taylor. Her character appeared on the show from 2014 until 2015 and was the wife of Dr Nate Cooper. While on the show, she caused some problems for not only Nate but many of his friends after causing a devastating bus crash.

When did Steve and Bridgette get married?

Steve married Bridgette in a private ceremony on 24 December 2014 after getting engaged on 7 March 2014.

The pair had been dating for nearly a decade when they tied the knot.

Steve called it the “best day” of his life after getting a reverend from the Southern Highlands in Australia to officiate.

They were surrounded by their friends and family with Steve sharing his wedding band is the only jewellery he’ll ever have.

Do the couple have children?

It was reported that the couple welcomed their first child in 2022. Bridgette was seen in June 2023 with their daughter enjoying a day out together in Broken Hill, New South Wales.

Steve and his family temporarily moved to the small town in order to film the latest season of RFDS: Royal Flying Doctor Service.

He briefly opened up about fatherhood with PerthNow in 2023, saying: “You take it in your stride. It is a bit less sleep, but it is all good.”
