Ben Affleck may be a producer on Jennifer Lopez's upcoming movie Unstoppable — but that doesn't mean she wants to discuss her ex during the press tour for the film.
As fans know, Lopez, 55, filed for divorce from her soon-to-be-ex-husband Ben Affleck back in August, after two years of marriage. And while the two appear to be navigating the divorce peacefully — as they've been spotted showing up to their kids' events together over the past few months — Lopez does not wish to speak on her and Affleck's personal matters... even if he does.
On Monday, November 4, Affleck, 52, spoke with Entertainment Tonight about Unstoppable, on which, he is credited as a producer. He described Lopez's performance as "spectacular."
The following day, Lopez attended Unstoppable's UK premiere. When asked about her ex's comments, Lopez simply replied, "I would describe all of the cast and everybody behind the scenes as spectacular and wonderful," per a report from E! News.
Unstoppable tells the story of wrestler Anthony Robles. In the movie, Lopez plays Anthony's mother, Judy. The movie also stars Jharrel Jerome as Anthony, along with Bobby Cannavale, Don Cheadle, and Michael Peña.
The film had its premiere at Toronto International Film Festival back in September, shortly after news of Lopez and Affleck's divorce broke. Though Affleck was absent from the premiere, Lopez was spotted talking with Affleck's longtime pal Matt Damon — also a producer on Unstoppable — and he was said to be comforting her amid the dissolution of her and Affleck's marriage. Though they appeared to have had a therapeutic conversation, Damon, 54, reportedly shut Lopez down whenever she tried to bring Affleck up.
According to a report from People published Wednesday, November 6, Lopez and Affleck have maintained limited contact, however, Lopez still keeps in touch with his kids. Affleck shares three kids — Violet Anne, 18, Seraphina Rose, 15, and Samuel, 12 — with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, to whom he was married from 2005 to 2015.
"Her whole family loves them," said a source close to the situation. "She wants them to know that they can always reach out if they need anything at all."
Lopez's sister, Lynda, proved as much when she shared a selfie with Violet earlier this week, calling the Yale student her "favorite Yalie.
Unstoppable arrives in theaters Friday, December 6.
