How Lily Allen uncovered husband’s dating profile after swapping boozing & bedding high class hookers for wedded bliss

BEAMING in the arms of her husband and with a Las Vegas Elvis impersonator beside her, newly married Lily Allen seemed to have finally left all the struggles behind.

Far from her days of snorting cocaine, excessive boozing and bedding “high-class hookers”, as well as romping on a plane with married rocker Liam Gallagher, the Noughties hitmaker looked to have settled down.

But now it appears her dream A-list romance with Stranger Things actor David Harbour, 49, turned from a love story into a mystery thriller.

It is reported the Not Fair singer, 39, turned detective after growing suspicious that her hubby was cheating and caught him out on Raya — the same celebrity dating app where she met him in 2019.

Taking her cue from Coleen Rooney’s “Wagatha Christie” sleuthing, she registered for the exclusive site, which only accepts eight per cent of applicants, claiming she was interested in meeting women.

A source said: “Lily was looking for women who were on Raya and cross-referencing them with women David follows on Instagram to try to figure out who he was seeing. She was doing her Wagatha thing.”

The insider claimed the singer and actress was trying to see if her husband had a secret dating profile after he broke up with her last month ahead of a Christmas break in Kenya.

‘Exploded and screamed’

A page seemingly belonging to him listed David as “visiting New York from Atlanta” — the latter being the location where he has been filming Netflix hit Stranger Things for the past year.

He describes himself as a “closet nerd that plays tough guys on your TV”, and the profile picture is a dark-haired cartoon character smoking a cigarette.

The profile’s featured song is Led Zeppelin’s Houses Of The Holy — a track which is about sex and seduction.

The source, who says the singer suspects he cheated, added: “Lily has never even looked at anyone since she met David. She is devastated.”

Neither David nor Lily have commented publicly but it is a damning blow for the Smile singer during a particularly tumultuous year.

She vowed to be “less of a narcissist in 2025”, declaring on Thursday’s episode of her Miss Me? podcast that she is “ready to move on” after being “wrapped up in myself and victimhood”.

Last month, she appeared to hint that her marriage was on the rocks as she described struggling to eat, slammed the men in her life and said she “exploded” at her two kids.

The pop star, who has not had a top 40 hit since 2014, also revealed she had signed up to porn website OnlyFans to sell snaps of her feet because it was more profitable than her music career.

In October, she tweeted: “Imagine being an artist and having nearly 8million monthly listeners on Spotify but earning more money from having 1,000 people subscribe to pictures of your feet. Don’t hate the player, hate the game.”

Two months later, she complained about being “bored of men” and only having one man as a “pillar of support” in her Miss Me? podcast.

But it was not husband of four years David, who she married in that Las Vegas ceremony officiated by an Elvis impersonator a year after they met.

The caring man in question was Aaron Batterham, the boyfriend of her mother Alison, who she has described as “the main male person in my life that is great and supportive to me”.

Lily — daughter of actor and comedian Keith Allen — admitted she had been having “a bit of a rough time” since early December and recalled daughters Ethel, 13, and Marnie, 11, finding themselves in the firing line.

“I exploded and screamed at the kids,” she said on her podcast.

“I was like, ‘I can’t handle this at the moment. I’m going through so much, I need you two to behave yourselves.’”

She apologised to her daughters, who are from her seven-year marriage to builder-decorator Sam Cooper which ended in 2018.

Meanwhile, David was away for much of last year, filming the fifth and final series of sci-fi show Stranger Things in which he appears as troubled police chief Jim Hopper.

His character is the adoptive father of young telekinetic hero Eleven, played by British megastar Millie Bobby Brown.

Lily may have been parenting alone for some time, as she previously said she felt overwhelmed by the challenge and guilty for being away from her kids — even during trips to New York to see David.

She revealed: “As soon as I walk across the threshold I’m enjoying myself but I feel guilt.”

The couple’s problems appear to stem further back than last year, with split rumours emerging in 2023 before they put on a united front at a basketball game in New York.

During her recent “tough time”, Lily was pictured without her wedding ring and worryingly told how eating had “become an issue”.

She explained the problem had been worsening for three years before hitting a peak in December when she was “really not in a great place”.

Lily revealed: “I’m not eating, I’m not hungry. I obviously am hungry, but my body and brain are so disconnected from each other that the messages of hunger are not going through my body to my brain.

“I’m not avoiding food, I’m just not thinking about it because I’m so in my head.

“My body’s, like, a few steps behind me.”

‘Terrible human being’

Since Lily’s alleged Wagatha Christie-style investigation, her profile on Raya has remained active and she describes herself as “looking for someone to start couples therapy with”.

The star, who lists her profession as “singing acting writing”, has an updated photograph showing her trim figure — but according to pals it is not up to date.

A friend said that she would not look for romance until her divorce is finalised because “she takes marriage very seriously”.

Considering her present struggles, that may be a relief for those close to Lily who will remember the booze- fuelled sessions and wild sexual experiences which she said took place during the breakdown of her first marriage.

In her 2018 autobiography My Thoughts Exactly, Lily described hiring “high-class hookers” at least four times during the “lowest ebb” when she was drinking heavily.

Describing one of the women, the singer wrote: “She was expensive  . . . [but] I didn’t care.

“I just wanted her to help me feel something.”

Lily said she became “very promiscuous” during that time and realised having “sex with female prostitutes” at that “low point” in her life was “really sad”.

She added: “Usually drugs and alcohol seem to sustain something in me and it didn’t feel like anything was working any more.” Booze had been among the previous vices of former wild child Lily, who famously had sex with Liam Gallagher in plane toilets after getting “hammered” with him during a flight.

She went back to his hotel room that evening and the next morning was told: “No one can hear about this because of Nic.”

The Oasis singer, 52, was referring to All Saints singer Nicole Appleton, who he was married to for six years until 2014.

In David, Lily found an ally in sobriety.

The Hellboy actor had been off booze since he was 24, revealing it had made him a “terrible human being”.

His decision was also in part due to having bipolar disorder, dark moods and suicidal thoughts.

David was the first person Lily claimed she had sex with when sober.

While Lily is reportedly “devastated” by what she found online, she sounded positive in the latest episode of the Miss Me? podcast, where she chats to the former Popworld presenter Miquita Oliver, 40.

Speaking about New Year’s resolutions, Lily said: “I think I’m going to try and be less of a narcissist in 2025. I need to be more empathetic.

“I’ve been quite wrapped up in myself and victimhood lately and I’m ready to move on.”

'Tell the truth'

Lily has hinted more music may be on the way in which she could bear her soul, stating she planned to “tell the truth” but was “scared” it would not be well received.

If she did, the tracks could lead to juicy insights, as she explained: “If I really go there, then I have to really reveal some stuff.”

It may be a warning shot to David, because in her 2008 single Not Fair, Lily exacted revenge on an unnamed ex.

On the track, she detailed “feeling pretty hard done by” sexually because “when we go up to bed you’re just no good”, adding: “You never make me scream.”

And it is not the only time Lily has decided to take revenge.

She has previously spoken about getting back at celebrities who wronged her in the past.

Most recently, she wound up one of David’s obsessed fans, who would “s**tpost me all over the internet”, by naming a production company after her.

Maybe Lily will have put that kind of behaviour now she has promised to be “more empathetic”.

But as the storm continues to swirl over David’s alleged behaviour, it seems the singer will be the one having the last laugh.
