Roborock has developed another excellent robot vacuum with the Saros 10R, offering improved suction power, enhanced navigation skills, and a sleek new dock design that’s easy to access yet still easy on the eyes. The company has also equipped the Saros 10R with the ability to automatically detach its mopping pads and leave them in the dock when vacuuming. This ensures your carpets stay dry, as you won’t have wet mopping pads trailing behind the robot as it cleans.
However, the feature is disabled by default. That means you’ll need to manually enable it using the Roborock mobile app, otherwise it’ll continue carrying its mops around even if it's traveling on carpet. If your home consists entirely of hard floors, you probably can leave the setting as is. But if you have a home that’s a mixture of carpet and hard floors, enabling the feature will make a huge difference in its performance.
Ready to keep your carpets dry? Here’s how to let your Roborock Saros 10R automatically detach its mops when vacuuming.
How to enable the mop auto-detach feature on the Saros 10R
While it’s not difficult to enable the mop detaching feature, Roborock doesn’t give you a lot of guidance when it comes to navigating its many menu screens. If you’re having trouble, here’s the quickest way to turn on the feature.
Step 1: Open the Roborock mobile app.
Step 2: Select your Saros 10R and press Enter.
Step 3: Select the three dots icon at the top right of your screen.
Step 4: Select Floor Cleaning Setting.
Step 5: Scroll down to Auto-Detach/Reinstall Mop Cloth Mounts.
Step 6: Toggle this to the On position.
Step 7: Your robot will now automatically detach its mops when in Vacuum and Vacuum Carpet First modes, then reinstall them when it needs to mop.
Other settings to change if you have carpet in your home
The ability to automatically detach mopping pads is a huge win if you have carpets in your home, but it’s not the only feature working in the Saros 10R’s favor. In fact, there are a few other settings you might want to adjust to make the most of the Saros 10R while traveling on carpet. Here are a few others to consider.
In the Floor Cleaning Settings menu, select Carpet Cleaning Setting. Then, select Rise. This will allow the robot to lift its mopping pads when they’re attached and it has to travel on carpet.
In the same menu, select Vacuum Carpet First. This will have the robot prioritize cleaning carpets without wetting the mop.
If you’d rather the robot avoid carpet altogether, select Avoid in the Carpet Cleaning Settings menu.
Consider changing the Cleaning Pattern. Setting this to Smart is usually the best for most homes, though the Clean Along Floor Direction and Mixed Pattern Cleaning are worth checking out as they might work better or your style of carpet.
