Carolina's last game was a 7-3 win over Utah Hockey Club. Jalen Chatfield scored the first goal of the game and while Utah tied things up before the first period ended, the rest of the game was all Carolina.

In the second period, the Hurricanes scored four goals while Utah managed just one, with Seth Jarvis and Sebastian Aho each adding one. Utah scored in the third period, but Carolina managed two more goals in the game's final three minutes.

As for Toronto, the Maple Leafs are coming off a 2-1 loss to the Vancouver Canucks. Morgan Rielly scored the team's only goal in the second period, tying the match up at the time. That tie was unable to hold though as Vancouver scored in the third period.

These teams last met in January, with Carolina winning 6-3 despite Toronto opening up a 2-0 lead early in the match.
