On Saturday, Maryland travels to Happy Valley to face off with No. 4 Penn State in the vaunted Beaver Stadium. Maryland enters the game 4-7 on the season and 1-7 in Big Ten play, in what has been a bitterly disappointing campaign for the program so far. Penn State, on the other hand, sits at 10-1 on the season with a 7-1 record in Big Ten conference play.
Although the Nittany Lions will be heavily favored in this matchup, shocking upsets happen all the time in college football, so this will still be a game to watch on Saturday as far as positioning for the college football playoffs goes.

Penn State enters Saturday's game on a three-game win streak, most recently defeating Washington 35-6, Purdue 49-10 and Minnesota 26-25. Leading the way for the Nittany Lions this season has been quarterback Drew Allar, who has thrown for 2,497 yards this year to go with 17 touchdowns and just five interceptions. Star tight end Tyler Warren, meanwhile, has caught 75 passes for 910 yards (a 12.1 yards-per-catch average) and five touchdowns.
Maryland, on the other hand, is on a four-game losing streak, falling 48-23 to Minnesota, 39-18 to No. 1 Oregon, 31-17 to Rutgers and 29-13 to Iowa. Head coach Mike Locksley, who has been leading the Terrapins since 2019, could very well be coaching his final game for Maryland on Saturday if rumors about how hot his seat is are to be believed.
Can Maryland pull off the huge upset and put a wrench in the Nittany Lions' playoff hopes? Or will Penn State improve to 11-1 this season? Find out on the Big Ten Network at 3:30 p.m. ET.
