2025 is upon us, but the classics always hold up. And this New Year's Eve, SYFY is throwing it back with a television favorite.
Beginning on New Year's Eve, Tuesday, December 31, SYFY is bringing back its annual three-day marathon of The Twilight Zone, which will run through Thursday, January 2.
Viewers can revisit classic episodes of The Twilight Zone on SYFY beginning December 31 at 1:00 a.m. ET. The marathon will wrap on January 2, at 3:30 a.m. ET.
SYFY still regularly reruns old episodes of The Twilight Zone. In a recent interview with SYFY Wire, Jodi Serling, the daughter of Twilight Zone creator Rod Serling, spoke about the show's impact across generations.
"It's interesting, because The Twilight Zone has never been off [the air]. It's always been there. It's never died," said Jodi. "It's because the message that he's sending is so apparent today. Everything that he predictively wrote about is coming back to us. It's just an honor to know that his legacy will continue to live on forever. He was such a humble kind of guy, I don't think he realized what an impact that he was going to make on our society."
The Twilight Zone has been rebooted for television three times, the latest being a version hosted by Get Out and Us creator Jordan Peele, which streamed on Paramount+ (then CBS All Access) from 2019 to 2020.
Fans can stream Peele's iteration of The Twilight Zone, as well as Rod's classic episodes, on Paramount+ any time.
"We live in a blessed age where you can watch anything you want, anytime you want," Marc Scott Zicree, author of The Twilight Zone Companion told SYFY Wire. "I really love these marathons, because I've heard from so many people that they just leave the TV on and glance over. It's like, 'Oh yeah, that's the one with Talky Tina! That's The Howling Man!' The great thing about Twilight Zone, is that it's also a family show. You can literally sit down with your kids, and it may scare them, but you know that they're not going to see something inappropriate. They know what they're signing up for. I really love the fact that there are Twilight Zone marathons. I think it's terrific."
