AMERICAN rockers Weezer have all but confirmed they're headlining Download festival next year - sending fans wild.

Next summer they will visit a string of shows in mainland Europe, including Dublin, Paris and Barcelona.

The Say It Aint So hitmakers have one gig in the UK in London, but it's already sold out.

Meanwhile, speculation is mounting among for 2025 Download, the biggest rock festival in the UK.

And concert goers will be expecting the punk rockers to make room for it on their tour.

The band shared their tour dates in an announcement on Instagram today, and captioned the photo: "You think we’d go across the pond for one show only? No way!!

"Europe and UK, see you next summer for a bunch of headline shows and festivals. BRB, we’re already packing our bags.

"More to come later today ;)"

Download will announce 60 acts today at a special metal gala launch event in London.

Sharing the post on Reddit's Download festival page, one fan added: "From the looks of the text right at the bottom of the picture (click to open) Weezer have self confirmed."

Another agreed it was a massive hint for their fans, writing back: "Not sure why you’re being downvoted, this is exactly what I took from the post too haha."

The band is made up of Rivers Cuomo, Patrick Wilson, Scott Shriner, and Brian Bell.

Their self titled debut album became a multi-platinum smash and is widely considered by many critics to be one of the best albums of the 90s.

The group have released 15 studio albums since the 90s, and their latest EP came out in December 2022.

While they were always more popular in their native US, in the UK their highest charting album was 2005's Make Believe.

It reached number 11 on the official albums charts.

Another major duo have also been tipped for an appearance.

Fans of Download Festival think Pendulum could have signed up to play.

The speculation surrounding Pendulum comes just days after fans 'unmasked' that Slipknot could be taking to the stage.
