Mountford will succeed Susanne Given, who departs after four years at the Australian-founded, London-based business.

Mountford has held a wide range of executive roles in his 40-year career in the fashion retail industry, most notably as UK managing director for luxury fashion house Versace between 1999 and 2002, and CEO of menswear brand Moss (2004-2009) and lingerie label Hunkemöller, for 15 years until he exited in January 2024.

Hush CEO Sarah Miles said Mountford “brings extensive executive retail experience, both in the UK and internationally, having held incredible CEO positions during his stellar career".

Mountford said: “Hush has great brand values and a real point of difference, which will enable it to grow both physically and digitally over the next stage in the brand's development."

Hush was founded in 2002 by Australian native Mandy Watkins, who previously worked in marketing for Adidas in Australia and Hong Kong.

In 2020, Hush secured investment for an undisclosed amount from private equity firm True for a 50% stake in the company.

It achieved B Corp status in September 2024, achieving a score of 85 (with a pass mark of 80) with high scores in governance, workers, ethics and transparency.
