Hysterics at Reason Woman Fears Her Black Cat Is 'Broken

A woman has shared the hysterical reason she thinks her cat is broken, garnering tens of thousands of views online.

Claudia (@claudiaaxxx_) shared a video of her black cat soaking in the bathtub and loving every second of it, garnering 4,853 likes and 108,500 views on TikTok.

"Guys I think my cat is broken? Why does she loves baths?" she captioned the post.

The video shows the black cat sitting in a full bathtub while enjoying strokes from her owner. Unlike most cats, who tend to avoid water at all costs, Claudia's feline seems to have a special bond with bath time.

According to PetMD, some cats develop a liking for water, especially if they were introduced to it at a young age or associate it with positive experiences. Certain breeds, such as the Maine Coon and Turkish Van, are also naturally more water-tolerant. For other cats, their fascination may come from the sensory appeal of water's movement or sound.

Black cats are often associated with myths and superstition, but they also hold a fascinating place in history and culture.

According to The Spruce Pets, black cats have long been symbols of mystery and magic, with their reputation dating back to the Middle Ages. In some cultures, they were feared as omens of bad luck or even linked to witchcraft.

However, in others, black cats are celebrated as symbols of good fortune. For example, in Japanese culture, a black cat crossing your path is considered lucky, and sailors once kept black cats on ships, believing they would ensure safe passage.

On the flip side, Britannica explains that many cats dislike water because of how it affects their fur. A wet coat takes time to dry, which can make a cat uncomfortable, and waterlogged fur is heavier, restricting their usually graceful movements. Additionally, cats are meticulous groomers, and getting wet disrupts the natural oils in their fur, making grooming more challenging.

"The cat even looks confused as to why she likes baths," commented one amused user.

"It's a black cat thing. Mine looks exactly like yours and although she doesn't have baths I'll always find her by the sink either drinking or playing with the water," added another.

"So cute, my cats would strip the skin from my bones if I dare to put their paws near the water," said Donna.

"In her previous life she was a fish," joked another viewer.
