Molly-Mae Hague is one of the most influential Love Island stars of all time and, having built an impressive career as a successful influencer, entrepreneur, and social media personality, her millions of followers watch her every move.
The first three episodes of her recent docuseries called Molly-Mae: Behind It All launched on Friday the 17th of January and the remaining episodes will be released in Spring of this year.
In the tell-all series, Molly delves into struggling with launching a new business, juggling life as a young mum and the real reason she split from ex- fiancé Tommy Fury who she met on Love Island.
Speaking to her mum Debbie about the breakdown of the five-year relationship, Molly admitted: “There were exterior issues going on for him, that was causing our relationship to have problems.”
Molly spoke about how Tommy’s drinking has been affecting their relationship for a long time: "He’s never had an alcohol problem; it’s just that alcohol caused problems for us."
"He wanted family life but then also have the life of a 25-year-old boy, with no responsibilities, and the two don’t go hand in hand."
The 25-year-old stated: "I never, ever wanted to be with someone that drank because my mum had a period of time in her life where she struggled because her marriage of 25 years had just ended."
She continued: "I have never, ever been around alcohol in a positive light."
Debbie responded: "It’s heart breaking how alcohol has really messed things up; it’s been so detrimental and destructive.
"It got to a point where I wasn’t really looking forward to anything because alcohol affected it so much."
She went on to say: "I could only see a couple of examples where he’s had some alcohol, and it’s not led to anything disastrous" to which Molly replied: "I mean I don’t think I know any. I really don’t."
Molly confessed: “At my sister’s wedding, I literally pleaded with Tommy, I begged him not to drink.”
Throughout the series, Molly vulnerably admitted that, despite the breakup, she ultimately saw herself reuniting with Tommy: “Tommy’s a lovely person, he’s a really good guy.
“Right now in this moment I don’t know what the future holds for Tommy and I, but I’d be lying if I said my love just disappeared overnight.
“I’ve been holding on to the hope and the idea that as soulmates we will always come back together. All I want is to be with him.”
“I just know that isn’t who he wants to be, and I genuinely do believe that isn’t who he wants to be, he doesn’t want to be that person, he doesn’t want this.”
However, she later admits to her sister, “maybe we are actually just done,” after a difficult day struggling to balance her business and her personal life.
Ahead of the release of the series, Tommy opened up about his struggles with alcohol, acknowledging it as the reason the couple of five years had split.
Fans of the influencer have taken to social media to share their support after the release of the series, with one viewer writing: “What an emotional docuseries. I feel so terribly sad for Molly-Mae and felt myself getting so emotional watching this.”
Another said: “The Molly Mae documentary has me in tears woww - so powerful & sad” and a third wrote: “Watching it now- what a wonderful human you are.”
