I Love a Mama’s Boy star Janelle McAloon seemingly overreacted after her mother-in-law, Tina McAloon, touched her in a new clip from the TLC reality series.
The two women were having a heated discussion about Janelle, 33, and her husband Josh McAloon’s decision to have a fifth child.
“It’s not your decision,” Janelle told Tina in the clip shared by TLC’s official Instagram account on Friday, November 22. “This is what I’m talking about.”
Tina, who made it clear she wasn’t happy with the thought of Janelle and Josh adding a new baby into the mix, replied, “I’m just saying! Don’t you have enough to handle right now? Let alone, another baby?”
When Janelle got up to leave because she couldn’t “handle” Tina at that moment, Tina placed her hand on Janelle’s arm and said, “No, no, stay.”
Janelle was shocked and promptly flopped back into the chair before saying, “What are you doing? She just freaking pushed me down!”
Tina argued that she didn’t actually push Janelle, but the soon-to-be mom of five remained adamant that her mother-in-law did. Josh asked Janelle to not overreact but she exited the room despite his pleas.
“I was like, ‘I just need to get up,’ and I go to get up and Tina freaking pushes me back down,” Janelle said during a one-on-one interview with the producers. “I’m like, ‘Bitch, how dare you?’”
The mid-season trailer for I Love a Mama’s Boy hinted at the growing tension between Janelle and Tina as she revealed her and Josh’s plan to expand their family.
“We want to have another baby,” Janelle announced while gesturing to herself and Josh.
Tina was seemingly appalled at the idea as she looked to Josh and back to Janelle before pleading, “Not now, guys. Come on.”
Last week, TLC shared a clip from I Love a Mama’s Boy that showed Janelle revealing she was pregnant with her and Josh’s fifth child.
“Tina can say all she wants about us having a fifth kid or not,” the reality star told the cameras in the video posted on November 17. “But, joke’s on her because I’m pregnant. Surprise, bitch!”
All of the stars of I Love a Mama’s Boy have butted heads with their spouse’s mom, but Tina and Janelle’s arguments have been particularly heated. During the November 11 episode, Janelle discovered that Josh had agreed to turn their garage into a mother-in-law suite for Tina without asking Janelle for her thoughts on the decision.
“You’re just not getting it. He told me to make myself at home, make myself comfortable, tell him what I need,” Tina exclaimed when Janelle balked at the news.
Their argument went down in front of the interior designer, Michelle, who was there to get an idea of the space she would be working with.
“Josh went ahead and called Michele to make these plans, and he did not consult me at all,” Janelle said during a confessional. “I think Josh didn’t consult me because he knew how against it I would be. To lose the garage, to make a whole wing of the house for Tina, is just insane.”
Michelle admittedly felt awkward being privy to the conversation and later told producers, “Janelle seems very upset with Josh. I didn’t expect that kind of dynamic. If that happened to me, and the communication with my partner was not on point, I would be so shocked. And so, I understand where she’s coming from.”
