I’m a Celeb fans hit out at show’s huge twist and insist it’s ‘ruined’ the series

I'M A Celebrity viewers have slammed the latest show twist and accused it of "ruining" the series.

In a show first, the campmates were split into three teams of four and presented with cash cards that they had to top up by winning challenges.

They then had to carefully budget what they spent the money on with regular activities, like going to the toilet or showering, incurring a cost.

To add to the pressure of decisions, each team's tally was displayed on a digital screen in the camp.

Though a novelty, the new introduction had shades of a Big Brother challenge about it and didn't impress viewers.

One person wrote on X: "I do not like this cash card 'twist' on #ImACeleb one bit. Everyone's praised this series & suddenly they're limiting the amount of times campmates can GO TO TOILET.

"That's just ridiculous. Fair enough to make showers a 'luxury' but restricting access to the dunny is unnecessary.

Another said: "Nah I’m not liking this camp money stuff… absolute bull."

A third said: "Anyone else thinks this credit card task is stupid?"

Hosts Ant and Dec teased the shake-up on sister show Unpacked the previous evening.

Dec said: "They’re going to have to pay for everything.

"If they want to use the dunny… Everything. Essentials…"

Ant added: "So they’ve got to weigh up, ‘do I have a treat, or do I get shower gel?’"

Elsewhere last night, viewers begged Dean to stop "whining" during a Bushtucker Trial.

The Radio 1 host went up against McFly's Danny Jones and Coronation Street's Alan Halsall in the Rank Bank challenge.

They had to compete in four races to win cash for their team’s bank accounts.

For first place, they’d be awarded $300, for second place $200 and third place $100.

Dean, 32, was left screeching as he used his mouth to empty a box full of raw pig testicles.

He was then spewing as he used his teeth to pop fish eyes to and transport fish guts to another container.

But some thought Dean was putting on a performance in a bid to get more airtime.

One wrote: "Danny and Alan just getting on with it. Dean whining and heaving again."

A second posted: "Us getting to watch insufferable whining Dean through this trial along with all his campmates who can't stand him."

A third commented: "Dean whining when he's the laziest campmate."
