I’m a Celebrity stars Maura Higgins, 34, and Dean McCullough, 32, have met up with fellow jungle contestant Melvin Odoom at his place of work.
The duo visited BBC Radio 1 on Monday, where Melvin, 44, works alongside breakfast host Greg James. Dean shared a video of himself and Maura in the studio on Instagram, showing them getting ready to speak on air. The ITV star sang: “Good morning! I’m going on Radio 1 this morning, the whole gang’s here. We’re here for Greg James, and I have brought…”
Dean then panned his camera to show Love Island alum Maura, who was midway through a breakfast bagel. “Obviously I’m eating,” she joked, as Dean cracked back: “Obviously she’s filling her face full of food.” Despite the friendly ribbing, Maura gushed that she and Dean were “having so much fun” in the studio.

ITV/REX/Shutterstock)Gaydio host Dean couldn’t resist pointing out Maura’s very chic outfit and flawless makeup, exclaiming: “And, she’s in full glam with heels on, on radio! You’re putting us all to shame!” Maura called to the camera: “Look, I couldn’t live the jungle life any longer!”
“You look gorgeous,” Dean praised, with Maura responding, “I needed to be glam.” Dean then revealed: “And here I am, I’ve barely washed my face. I’m still wearing last night’s pants!”
While Dean and Maura went on Greg James’ breakfast show, Dean was previously ribbed by Greg for his first move in the jungle, in which he was accused of snubbing their colleague Melvin. After the opening episode of I’m a Celeb, Greg called Dean a snake after he chose to partner with WAG Coleen Rooney rather than his Radio 1 pal Melvin.
On Instagram while watching the show, Greg took a selfie of his confused face as he watched the scene, and demanded: "Urrrm Dean didn't pick Melvin?!" Adding a tongue-in-cheek photo of another contestant, Barry McGuigan, with a snake, he cheekily snarked: "They should send Dean in as one of the snakes after that behaviour.”
Melvin and Dean also seemed tense during last week’s reunion episode, when Dean confronted Melvin for a joke made in the jungle. While on the show, Melvin couldn’t resist making a couple of jibes about Dean’s less than ideal work ethic when it came to chores around the camp.
After the other campmates told Dean to pull his socks up when it came to collecting water for the camp, Melvin also jokingly made a dig about Dean’s ability to be out of reach when it was time to fill the buckets. “Listen, your new name is Houdini because you like to disappear,” he said.
While Dean didn’t seem upset about the comment at the time, he voiced his issues with Melvin on I'm A Celebrity... Coming Out. After seeing their families, the duo bumped into each other. Dean said to his colleague: “I love how the whole Houdini popped off, the memes were brilliant.”
The tone of their chat then took a turn, with Dean confiding in Melvin: “I wish you had told me, that upset me,” to which Melvin said: “If I’m trying to give someone a message, I always use humour, that’s my number one way of communicating with people, that’s essentially my weapon, and that’s all that was.”
