Winter has arrived, and it's not the snow that signals its onset, it's the much-anticipated return of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!
The popular show, hosted by Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly, brings families together around the telly to witness the drama and disputes unfold as the campmates grow increasingly hungry.
A week into the show, arguments have been surprisingly sparse despite the tension surrounding the trials. While Danny and Barry tackled the first trial, subsequent ones were undertaken by GK Barry and Dean, both confessing to multiple fears.
GK Barry even became an internet sensation for her reaction to brushing against a leaf - in the jungle of all places!
For years, I've wished for the show to start a bit earlier - 9pm every night is a bit late for me. However, this series, I've noticed an even more pressing issue that needs immediate attention!
As per tradition, Ant and Dec open the voting lines and the public decides who will face the next trial. Long-time viewers will recall how some of the least liked campmates - including politicians Nigel Farage and Matt Hancock - ended up participating in numerous trials, thereby gaining substantial airtime. People wanted to see them squirm, but they simply gained more screen time as a result.
Perhaps it's time to consider a new voting system that truly 'punishes' those who viewers vote for, or the bosses could implement a new system that excludes recent campmates who have participated in Bushtucker trials from the next trial, ensuring everyone gets a fair chance.
Fan favourites like Tulisa Contostavlos, Coleen Rooney, and Danny Jones are all being overlooked for the major trials in favour of those we enjoy watching scream and shout the famous 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here' catchphrase.
So, ITV bosses, it's time to make a change - and keep the show running for many more years!
*I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here airs daily at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
