A woman has shocked fans of the Twilight saga, based on the books by Stephenie Meyer, by saying she played one of the most iconic roles in the film series.
Actor, artist and vocalist Taylor Dianne Robinson took to TikTok to share that she played Renesmee in Breaking Dawn Part 2. Fans of the Twilight franchise, which follows Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), who falls in love with vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), will remember that the couple went on to have a vampire/human hybrid baby called Renesmee.
Bella gives birth to Renesmee in Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1, 28 days after conception. Being a half human, Renesmee ages fast, which means we also see her as a young child.
It's now 12 and 14 years since Twilight Breaking Dawn 2 and 1 came out, respectively. Taylor, who says she played the role when she was five, explained: "I was Renesmee in Twilight Breaking Dawn: Part 2. It's true." She added: "Yeah, maybe I got to told Rami Malek's face for like seven hours while filming because that's one of Renesmee's powers. And yeah, maybe I watched Robert Pattinson sleep. What are you going to do about it."
She then shared a screenshot of her IMDB page, where it says: Known for Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2. She also shared a picture of herself with the Twilight cast, including Kristen and Robert.
On her Instagram page back in 2021, Taylor also shared some behind the scenes pictures of herself on set. She captioned the photos, saying: "It was amazing to be on the set of Twilight Breaking Dawn p2 and play Renesmee at 5yrs, I got to meet the whole cast, it was such a pleasure."
Fans of the franchise were confused, as they thought Remesmee was played by Mackenzie Foy, who earned a Young Artist Award nomination as Best Supporting Young Actress in a Feature Film for her portrayal. She went on to star in The Conjuring, Interstellar and Black Beauty.

It it turns out several young people played Remesmee in the franchise. "There were multiple girls, since she grew up fast," said one person. "I was very confused upon basic googling - you aren't Mackenzie Foy. Had to dig deeper to realise there were like four different Renesmees at different ages - I guess that's a young character who ages up during the movie?" one user asked.
Another wrote: "Way to make me feel super old. You were like 10 when that movie came out, and I was on my early 20s." "So cool! I would brag about being a random extra on that film and you were a whole character! Freaking awesome," said another.

taylordiannerobinson/Instagram)Baby Renesmee was created with CGI, but director Bill Condon admitted it didn't go as planned. He said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter: "On 'Twilight,' there was] a CG half-human, half-vampire baby. That was a disaster. We could never make it work, and now, I feel as though that wouldn't have happened." In behind the scenes footage, the film makers explained that for the older character, they "cast girls who would play the body Renesmee", and then they would CGI Mackenzie's face over.
Taylor also starred in Arrow as young Nyssa, and Time Helmet as Elle. She now also created Dungeouns and Dragons content on TikTok.
