'I was left annoyed after wearing Primark's £18 sculpting jeans all day'

The £18 jeans fit my figure perfectly and are super comfy, but they did end up damaging my trainers and I didn't notice until it was too late

While searching for a new pair of jeans, I scoured the internet for the most buzzworthy brands and stumbled upon a pair at Primark. People on TikTok have been gushing over them, calling them "flattering" and "comfortable".

After seeing the hype over Primark's Paula Echevarría Sculpting Bootcut Jeans, I headed to my local store to put them to the test. Being petite at just 5ft3, I took a size six into the fitting room.

It didn't take long to understand the praise; these £18 bootcut denim jeans boasted a sculpting effect and came with five handy pockets. They were snug yet stretchy, made from pleasingly textured denim.

The bootcut style is known for elongating legs and enhancing curves, and when I checked my reflection, I wasn't disappointed – the jeans truly accentuated my silhouette. The photos I snapped clearly showed the flattering fit, reports Lancs Live.

Convinced by the quality and price, I didn't think twice about purchasing them. Even my mum, who was shopping with me, urged me to snap them up, saying I'd be mad to pass on such a find.

On Primark's website, the jeans are described as: "These sculpting indigo bootcut jeans from the Primark Presents Paula Echevarría collection are a great way to embrace Y2K style. They're cut from classic cotton denim for comfortable wear and feature signature denim hallmarks, like belt loops, a button and concealed front fastening, and a five-pocket design."

The product description continues: "These jeans showcase a retro-inspired bootcut silhouette that's fitted through the thigh before flaring out slightly from the knee down, which offers a sculpted effect for a flattering look. Pair these jeans with chunky trainers for a casual feel or lean into what they were made for a cute pair of boots."

I purchased the regular leg length in indigo, although a black version is also available for the same price. The jeans are made from 92% Cotton, 6% Elastomultiester, and 2% Elastane.

After buying the jeans last Saturday, I decided to wear them out for Sunday brunch. While I love their look and feel, I did not wash them first - a big mistake.

I didn't wash the jeans before wearing them out with my white trainers, mistakes were made! (

Upon returning from brunch, I noticed that my white trainers had blue marks - exactly where the jeans had come into contact with them. It appears that the dye from the jeans had stained my trainers, and the rain that day didn't help.

After making a special trip to purchase some stain remover, I managed to get the marks out, but it was a lengthy process. However, considering the jeans only cost £18, I suppose I shouldn't have expected any different.

Once they're washed, I'll be donning them again. But a word of warning for anyone planning on snagging a pair, don't repeat my error! To get the stains out, I mixed some baking soda and washing up liquid to a small bowl of lukewarm water then scrubbed my trainers with a toothbrush.
